    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to novel nutritional and cosmeceutical compositions comprising an oil extracted from the seeds of Boraginaceae, particularly Buglossoides arvensis, in the range of from 1 to 100% by weight of the total composition. The oil has particular advantages over oils extracted from other seeds in that the oil is comprised of from 14% to at least 17% stearidonic acid and less than 7% gamma-linolenic acid. The oil composition is particularly suited for oral or topical administration and for dietary, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and healthcare uses.
