Abstract: A putter-type golf club head includes a main body. The main body includes a forward end, a rearward end opposite the forward end, a bottom portion, a top portion opposite the bottom portion, and a male-type hosel component defining a longitudinal axis that is forwardly canted relative to vertical. A face component is secured to the forward end of the main body. The face component includes a first element formed of a resilient material and a second element formed of a rigid material that is secured to the first element. A striking face generally defines a virtual striking face plane and is at least partially formed by the face component.

Abstract: A method of customizing a golf club, wherein the method includes generating operating data representative of a user operating a mechanical device. The operating data is generated by a first sensor sized and configured to be removably positioned in a mounting port formed on the mechanical device during operation of the mechanical device. The sensor is interchangeably positionable in the mounting port with at least one mass insert, the at least one mass insert being adapted to be interchangeably positioned in the mounting to provide at least two different mass configurations. The method further includes determining a recommended configuration of the at least one mass insert specific to the user based on the operating data generated by the sensor, and transmitting information representative of the recommended mass insert.

Abstract: A sporting apparatus includes a monitoring device. The monitoring device may add no weight to the sporting apparatus relative to a comparable sporting apparatus without the monitoring device. The monitoring device may have a center of gravity substantially aligning with the center of gravity of the sporting apparatus, resulting in a sporting apparatus with a monitor having substantially the same center of gravity as a comparable sporting apparatus without a monitor. The sporting apparatus monitor may be configured to trim unreliable post impact swing data and replace it with extrapolated pre-impact swing data and/or more reliable post impact swing data.

The insert further includes a first component comprising a non-metallic material, and a second component coupled to the first component and comprising a continuous, formed metal sheet having a thickness between 0.01 mm and 3.0 mm, the second component extending a maximum distance, D, in a direction perpendicular to the base surface, that is no less than 6 mm. The insert is configured such that a ratio D/Tmax is no less than 0.50.

Abstract: An article, such as a golf club head, comprising one or more of a polished region, a textured region, a painted region, and/or a coated region, which may be formed using one or more masking operations, texturing operations, painting operations, and mask removal operations. A liquid mask may be applied over a narrow region defined by opposing mask edges, enabling a strip of a metallic surface to be framed by painted, textured, and/or coated regions.

Abstract: A golf bag and golf bag collar structure are disclosed. More specifically, a golf bag including a rigid frame including a collar having a top edge and a bottom edge is disclosed. The golf bag further includes a longitudinal axis and a bag body extending about the rigid frame. The collar includes a generally tubular portion extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis and a flared portion extending outwardly toward the top edge from a first end located intermediate the top edge and the bottom edge to a second end located at the top edge.
