  • Patent number: 8619936
Abstract: A radio system having multi-standard mixed mode radios is described. The mixed mode radios are used to support combining of digital baseband from a first and a second radio equipment controller. A primary clock associated with the first radio equipment controller and a secondary clock associated with the second radio equipment controller is provided. The quality of the primary clock is evaluated and the primary clock is referenced to the first radio equipment controller if the clock is determined to have appropriate quality factors. The quality of the secondary clock is then evaluated and the secondary clock is referenced to the second radio equipment controller if the secondary clock is determined to have appropriate quality factors. The second radio equipment controller is then referenced to the primary clock once the primary and secondary clocks are aligned.

  • Patent number: 7383548
Abstract: A scheduler of central processing unit (CPU) usage arranges tasks in a plurality of classes, associating a given task with a top level class and a sub-class. Weights may be associated with sub-classes and usage targets associated with top level classes. A target CPU usage may then be determined for the given task from a weight and a target CPU usage. Once an actual usage of the CPU by the given task is determined in a first predetermined evaluation interval, a penalty duration may be determined for the given task based on the actual usage and the target CPU usage. A penalty may then be applied to the given task for the penalty duration during a second predetermined evaluation interval.

  • Patent number: 6560654
Abstract: An apparatus and method of forwarding a first message from a source to a destination via a link state routing network utilizes point-to-point feedback messages when the quality of a first path from the source to the destination meets some prescribed condition. To that end, the first path is initialized within the link state routing network. A feedback message having data relating to a quality of the first path then is received as a point-to-point message that is forwarded to the source. In response to receipt of the feedback message, a second path is initialized from the source to the destination. The first message then is forwarded to the destination via the second path.
