  • Publication number: 20240402913
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method, computer system, and computer program product for mitigating vibration damage to a distributed storage system is provided. The present invention may include classifying at least two of the drives comprising the distributed storage system as vulnerable and not vulnerable, respectively, and responsive to detecting that a site associated with the distributed storage system is at risk of a vibration event, turning off the vulnerable drives at the site; creating a thin mitigation layer comprising thin-provisioned volumes associated with standard volumes comprising the vulnerable drives; routing read IO addressed to the standard volumes instead to associated partner volumes; routing write IO addressed to the standard volumes instead to the thin-provisioned volumes; and responsive to determining that the site is no longer at risk of a vibration event, turning on the vulnerable drives and copying states from the thin-provisioned volumes to the standard volumes.

  • Patent number: 11362916
Abstract: Provided is a computer-implemented method, system, and apparatus for a visual identification of a port and a previously connected cable of a link in a network environment including a network switch or a network device. The apparatus having an LED arrangement at a port assembly configured for illumination at the port and configured to provide illumination via the cable to a remote end of the link. An identifier providing component controls the LED arrangement based on a unique attribute of the link including: detecting a status change of a link; obtaining the unique attribute related to the link from a layer of a protocol received on both ends of the link; selecting an identifier based on the unique attribute related to the link; and instructing the LED arrangement to be configured to provide a light output of the selected identifier.

  • Publication number: 20220136703
Abstract: A portable modular oven provides a collapsible, portable and affordable cooking device that uses wood or charcoal as a heat source. Various components of the oven are preferably constructed of 22-gauge steel, with the exception of a rectangular ceramic cooking surface. The oven can be easily disassembled and its components can be stored inside its base portion to maximize portability. The oven is designed to be a proper pizza oven that can quickly reach temperatures well above 600° F. The height of the cooking surface may be adjusted, as well as the temperature, to accommodate oven baking of a multitude of food items. The oven is designed to be used at home, camping, or tailgating.

  • Publication number: 20220133086
Abstract: A ceramic wood-fired portable pizza oven includes a lower fire chamber and an upper cooking chamber. Heat and smoke of the fire in the lower chamber is transferred through a rear wall vent into the upper chamber, travels over the food, and exits through a front opening. Vents on either side of the lower chamber increase air flow. The ceramic material absorbs and retains the convective heat. The oven temperature can exceed 900 degrees F. to cook a pizza in minutes. The lower chamber has an optional floor to protect the underlying medium. The top of the upper chamber may be removed to convert to a wood-fired griddle and to facilitate cleaning of the cooking surface. The oven may be used outside on noncombustible surfaces or inside a vented fireplace. The unit is easily disassembled to facilitate portability. The oven is designed to be used at home, camping, or tailgating.

  • Publication number: 20070185812
Abstract: A secure digital data distribution system (100) for preventing unauthorized access to digital data. The system utilizes an identification system module (116) embedded in a digital storage media (114) to grant authorization to media players (118). Prior to reading the digital data recorded on the media (114), an identification system interrogator (122) reads authorization data from the identification system module (116) to determine whether the media player (118) is authorized to read the media (114). If the authorization data matches the media player's unique identifier, authorization is granted and the media player (118) commences to read the media (114).

  • Patent number: 6320586
Abstract: A computer system having a visual display which displays data in an interactive split pie chart and permits a user to modify the input parameters of the pie chart to dynamically alter the configuration of the chart. The split pie chart can be split into two or more sections each corresponding to a different time period. Each section is divided into wedges corresponding to different variables and their corresponding values in two different time periods. Finally, the chart itself is geographically placed on a graphic image of a map. An interface between the computer system and a data storage system to transfer data to be transformed into the graphical representation of the pie chart is provided. The user modifies the input parameters of the pie chart through a user interface which translates the modifications into queries to the database storage system to retrieve the appropriate data.
