  • Patent number: 10991064
Abstract: A system for protecting a proprietary medium is provided, the system comprising a processor and a memory having instructions stored thereon that when executed by the processor cause the processor to: identify at least one first feature of interest in an original digital image; generate a watermarked copy of the original image and generate a masked copy of the original image in which the first feature of interest is masked; combine the watermarked copy with the masked copy to provide a modified watermarked copy having a region of lower intensity watermarking corresponding to the location of the first feature of interest in the original digital image; and overlay the modified watermarked copy over the original image to provide a final copy in which the regions of lower intensity watermarking are aligned with the first feature of interest.

  • Patent number: 10286253
Abstract: A reciprocating dynamometer assesses human physical capacity and muscle composition by: (1) simultaneously working all four limbs of the body through a full range of motion while maximally loading the muscles through a full range of speeds; (2) simultaneously capturing the reciprocating torques and reciprocating angular velocities of all four reciprocating limbs, and (3) adjusting to provide similar ranges of motion for limb joints of human subjects of different body height and limb length. Levers provide synchronized, reciprocating, angular movements for handles and pedals while adjustable brakes oppose reciprocating motion during a 15 second test of maximal exertion. Measurements of elapsed time, torque input to each lever and angular displacement of each lever enable a plot of cyclical moving average of power over cycle frequency for each limb. Peak cyclical power is the maximal rate of work performed, averaged over one movement cycle.

  • Patent number: 9578074
Abstract: Techniques for adaptive content transmission are described herein. During transmission of a content item, a network connection may be monitored to collect data corresponding to one or more network conditions associated with the transmission of the content item. Such network conditions may include, for example, network throughput, available network bandwidth, network latency and others. The collected data may be used to dynamically adjust one or more transmission attributes in connection with the transmitted content item. The one or more transmission attributes may be determined for adjustment at any desired transmission interval.

  • Publication number: 20150133214
Abstract: Content may have associated interest information that indicates various areas of interest within images displayed during presentation of the content. An area of interest is an area for which a different encoding bitrate may be desired relative to another area. When an image is encoded for transmission, instructions may be provided to an encoding component for encoding of the image based on the associated interest information. The encoding component may then determine appropriate bitrates for different portions of the image based on the interest information while also satisfying overall bitrate constraints for the image as a whole.

  • Patent number: 8993944
Abstract: Packaging and a dessert food product combines a hot portion and a cold portion. In one embodiment, the dessert combines hot pie with a topping of ice cream in a single package. In one aspect of the invention, the microwaveable food product and package incorporates a food package that simultaneously includes various susceptor films that allow for differential heating of food. The susceptor film(s) shield the cold-portion food products from being heated in the microwave while they provide even heating of the hot portion of the product. The packaging provides a quick, convenient and tasty dessert with minimal effort. In another aspect of the present invention, the pie and ice cream formulation has been optimized to maintain superior flavor and texture properties after freezing and microwave reheating.
