Patent number: 8964956Abstract: A method and system for integrating compliance and contact management between an origin and destination. An integrated control system can receive or initiate a request for a first communication contact type (e.g. phone call) between an origin and destination, the request including a first destination identifier (e.g. phone number). Depending on applicable mediation rules and lists of prohibited and exempted destination identifiers for the first communication contact type, the connection is either prohibited or allowed. If the first communication contact type is prohibited, a request for an alternate communication type (e-mail, mail, or facsimile) is sent to the same destination based on alternate destination identifiers. The integrated control system will either prohibit or allow the requested alternate communication contact based on one or more applicable mediation rules and lists of prohibited and exempted destination identifiers for each alternate communication contact type.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2005Date of Patent: February 24, 2015Assignee: Gryphon Networks Corp.Inventors: Keith A. Fotta, Richard P. Boudrieau

Patent number: 8732190Abstract: Compliance with a privacy database and call-specific applications is provided within a network. A service control function (SCF), in communication with a privacy database, selectively establishes a call between an origin and a destination. Based on origin or destination identifiers, call parameters are determined for further operations associated with the call. A server, responsive to the call parameters, performs monitoring of the call or post-call disposition to update the privacy database.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2010Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Assignee: Gryphon Networks Corp.Inventors: Keith A. Fotta, Richard P. Boudrieau, Robert E. Ziemba, Jr., Norman M. D'Amours

Patent number: 8577009Abstract: In an embodiment, a method comprises receiving call information to record a complaint from a called party against a calling party relating to receipt of a call and adding the call information to a complaint database. The call information may be retrieved from the complaint database and a check made for a match between called party information in a regulatory database and the call information. The call information may be updated in the complaint database based on results of the match checking. Reverse lookup information in a third party database may be requested with the call information updated in the complaint database based on results of the request. An entity may request complaint information from the complaint database. In response to the request, an application server may retrieve the requested complaint information from the complaint database and deliver the retrieved complaint information to the entity.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2006Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: First Orion Corp.Inventors: Keith A. Fotta, Richard P. Boudrieau

Patent number: 8311204Abstract: In an embodiment, call information is received indicating that a called party, responsive to receiving a call from a calling party, desires to record a complaint against the calling party relating to receipt of the call. A call complaint based on the call information is added to a complaint database. Call rejection information based on the call information is forwarded to a call rejection database configured to indicate blocking of further calls from the calling party to the called party. The complaint information may be forwarded to the complaint database through a number of different communications paths. In another embodiment, a request for a change in status of an identifier entry on a user call rejection list is received. The status of the identifier entry on the user call rejection list is changed based on a comparison of the current status of the identifier entry with the request.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2007Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignee: First Orion Corp.Inventor: Keith A.
