Abstract: A food pan cooling system includes a housing with a food item holding arrangement including a recessed well area defining at least a first food pan receiving location and a second food pan receiving location. The first food pan receiving location includes a first cooled wall structure in the recessed well area to at least in part define the first food pan receiving location, the first cooled wall structure having a first surface facing the first food pan receiving location. A first thermal shim is connected to the first cooled wall structure, the first thermal shim having a first shim surface and a second shim surface, the first shim surface at least partly in contact with the first surface of the first cooled wall structure, and the second shim surface facing the first food pan receiving location.

Abstract: A pan chiller system includes a pan chiller unit having a food well, with a plurality of hollow divider rails arranged within the food well to define at least one opening to receive one or more food pans to be cooled, where the plurality of divider rails define a first rail flow path and a second rail flow path. A chilled liquid coolant system chills liquid coolant and moves the chilled liquid coolant into both the first rail flow path and the second rail flow path. A control arrangement is configured for controlling chilled liquid coolant flow such that a first temperature condition maintained in the first rail flow path is different than a second temperature condition maintained in the second rail flow path.

Abstract: A stackable pallet system comprises a plurality of pallets used for holding and transporting various items, including potted plants such as potted trees, flowers, bushes, etc. When the pallets are to be stacked, two pairs of spacer pipes can be used on a first pallet extending upwardly therefrom. Two elongated saddles are then coupled, one to each pair of spacer pipes, such that the saddles extend between and unite the upper ends of the pairs of spacer pipes. The saddles comprise an upwardly facing, shallow channel which is sized to be slightly larger than at least a portion of the fork pockets contained on the pallet. A second pallet can be lowered down onto a first pallet with the fork pockets, or at least a portion of the fork pockets, being received in the saddle channels. Various containment rings can be coupled to the pipes, in place of or in addition to the saddles, to allow longer trees to be carried on the pallets or to allow double stacking of potted plants on a single pallet.
