Abstract: A braid removal device is disclosed for unraveling previously braided hair. The braid removal device includes a debraiding head assembly having a main body defining a space for receipt of a length of braided hair and a debraiding wheel rotatably mounted within the main body. The debraiding wheel includes a rotatable disk and a plurality of curved hook extending radially outwardly from the rotatable disk. A grip portion is removably attached to the debraiding head assembly and includes a motor to rotate the rotatable disk and a battery to power the motor.
