  • Patent number: 7724157
Abstract: An improved keyboard system and apparatus using keys spaced and sized to correspond to human hands provides rapid data entry applicable to all electronic devices. Each key combination provides a binary sequence, and each sequence is associated with an alphabetic, numeric or control character using standard ASCII coding. The preferred eight key embodiment is adapted to the back of a hand-held electronic device whereby data is readily input by a user holding the device with both hands.

  • Patent number: 6822178
Abstract: Cluster assemblies for both low and medium voltage applications which allow a movable circuit breaker to connect to a fixed part of the switchgear. The assembly apparatus comprises a plurality of conducting bridge elements consisting of resilient finger springs held in a predetermined geometrical configuration by a guide plate and a locator plate, wherein the locator plate is fixedly attached to a conductor. The resilient finger springs act to engage and hold a second conductor, thus making the electrical connection. The apparatus is scalably configured to address any range of low and medium voltage current necessary to be carried by the switchgear using simple and easily manufactured components.

  • Patent number: 4587390
Abstract: A vacuum circuit breaker comprises an interrupter for each phase of a three phase electrical system. Each interrupter includes a cylindrical housing for containing circuit breaker contacts. The axes of the housings are vertically disposed and are arranged to define an equilateral triangle. Projecting radially outward from each housing in fixed relation thereto is a rigid fixed contact bus bar connection link and a rigid movable contact bus bar connection link. Ends of the fixed contact bus bar connection links are disposed in a parallel relation in a horizontal plane. Ends of the movable contact bus bar connection links are disposed in a parallel relation in a horizontal plane. Associated pairs of fixed and movable contact bus bar connection links for each interrupter are disposed in vertical alignment.

  • Patent number: 4506110
Abstract: A corona tube is provided wherein the tube is flexible so that it can fit on any three dimensional container rim. The tube can be a flexible steel tube which is a standard commercial variety of corrugated steel tube which is usually used to contain wires or the like. The tube has a slotted edge along its length, is cut to a length to the periphery of the rim and bent in the shape of the rim. The slot of the flexible tube is placed over the edge of the rim and thereafter the tube can be welded to the rim.

  • Patent number: 4442329
Abstract: A cylindrical housing for a high voltage circuit breaker is filled with sulfur hexafluoride and receives three parallel elongated puffer interrupters arranged with their axes on the apices of an equilateral triangle. A single triangular support plate receives one end of each interrupter and supports them in cantilever. The triangular plate is fixed to the housing by thin steel straps affixed to respective apices of the plate. Filter bags in a removable tray are disposed along the horizontal bottom of the housing. Bushings enter the tank through openings in the tank wall. The openings receive slotted flexible tubes which wrap around the slot edges to serve as corona rings. The bushings each have an integral central conductive stud and conductive end plate.

  • Patent number: 4306263
Abstract: A synchronous closing system for high voltage circuit breakers is disclosed wherein the circuit breaker main contacts close within about 1 millisecond of a current zero in the current through a closing resistor in a 60 hertz system. Closing accuracy is obtained by delaying the release of a latch which holds the closing system for a given delay following the appearance of a closing signal, which delay enables hydraulic operating pressures to come to full value before permitting the hydraulic operation of the closing piston. The latch release instant is controlled from a signal derived from a zero cross-monitor circuit, which monitors resistor current and releases the latch at a time which allows contact closing at a subsequent current zero. The closing mechanism may be slightly jogged before full motion and during the delay time.

  • Patent number: 4214118
Abstract: First and second conductive flanges adjacent first and second ends of a hollow insulator column are biased together by a through-rod assembly such that the first and second flanges cooperate with the insulator column to form a substantially enclosed chamber. The through-rod assembly means includes three coaxial cylinders connecting the first conductive flange to the second conductive flange. The innermost cylinder is connected to the first conductive flange and extends internally into the enclosed chamber. An external shoulder extends from the distal end of the first cylinder and supports one end of a second cylinder. The remaining end of the second cylinder terminates at an internal flange extending from the distal end of a third cylinder which extends from the second conductive flange.
