  • Patent number: 7682043
Abstract: A light emitting assembly, and wirelessly controlled light emitting assembly for use in a lighted display having a housing body configured to receive a light emitting device having a plurality of wirelessly controlled light emitting elements. The housing body includes at least one mounting feature arranged and disposed to maintain a relative positioning of the light emitting assembly with respect to another light emitting assembly.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 5, 2007
Date of Patent: March 23, 2010
    Assignee: Tyco Electronics Corporation
Inventors: Charles Randall Malstrom, Keith J. McKechnie, Christopher George Daily, Ronald Martin Weber
  • Patent number: 7614771
Abstract: A light emitting assembly and a system utilizing a plurality of light emitting assemblies having a plurality of light emitting elements arranged and disposed within a sub-assembly. The assembly also includes a controller in communication with the elements, the controller being capable of receiving wireless signals and/or transmitting wireless signals, the controller also being capable of driving the elements to emit light in response to the wireless signals. The assembly further includes a power source arranged and disposed to provide electrical power to the light emitting elements. A method for providing a light emitting element display is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5365224
Abstract: A system for defining and controlling data transmissions in a multiplexing system having a host controller in bi-directional communication with a plurality of remote stations or nodes. The system comprises a series of simple frame flags generally defined as varying periods of inactivity on the bi-directional transmission line. Only specified numbers of transmitted data digits constitute valid transmissions. An arrangement is provided which responds to the receipt of an incorrect number of received digits (an error condition) in a manner which is a function of the number of digits which are actually received.

  • Patent number: 4845619
Abstract: A vehicle multiplex system includes a controller and a number of remote stations connected to the controller by a control bus. The controller receives multiplexed signals indicative of the desired operation of loads such as headlamps and motors. In order to obtain reduced intensity headlamp operation or reduced speed of a continuous DC motor, the controller automatically connects and disconnects the headlamp or motor and a DC power source with a selected duty cycle. The period of repetition is sufficiently small to prevent perceptible flicker or fluctuation in motor speed. In this way, headlamp intensity and motor speed can be varied as desired, without increasing the hardware requirements of the system.
