  • Patent number: 12602081
Abstract: An electronic device includes a flexible display and a device housing that defines a translation surface for the flexible display. A blade assembly is positioned between the flexible display and the translation surface. A rotor is positioned within a curvilinear section of the blade assembly and flexible display. A translation mechanism translates the blade assembly and flexible display between an extended position, a retracted position, and a peek position revealing an image capture device.

  • Patent number: 12425503
Abstract: An electronic device includes a flexible display and a device housing that defines a translation surface for the flexible display. A blade assembly is positioned between the flexible display and the translation surface. A rotor is positioned within a curvilinear section of the blade assembly and flexible display. A translation mechanism translates the blade assembly and flexible display between an extended position, a retracted position, and a peek position revealing an image capture device. A flexible substrate couples electronic circuit components in the device housing to other electronic circuit components carried by the blade assembly. A reverse-S-shaped bend of the flexible substrate expands when the blade assembly slides toward the extended position and contracts when the blade assembly slides toward the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 12348657
Abstract: A flexible substrate has a first dynamic region separated from a second dynamic region along a central axis by a central region. One or both of the first dynamic region and/or the second dynamic region define at least one aperture having a major axis oriented substantially parallel with the central axis.

  • Publication number: 20250208817
Abstract: A deformable electronic device includes a first section carrying a first display and a second section that is both bendably coupled to the first section and devoid of any display. The deformable electronic device also includes a third section that carries a second display and is bendably coupled to the second section. The first display and the second display are oppositely facing. The deformable electronic device can be bent such that the first display and second display are aligned along a minor edge, aligned along a major edge, are oppositely facing, are configured as a tent, a stand, or even a loop. The number of sections carrying displays and devoid of displays can be increased to increase the total number of sections of the deformable electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20250028355
Abstract: An electronic device, method, and computer program product provide a wearable flexible display that is configurable when not being worn to increase a display area from one strap length by one strap width to one half strap length by two strap width. A mechanism enables pivoting between serial alignment and non-serial juxtaposed alignment of first and second half straps. In response to determining that the first half strap is in the juxtaposed parallel alignment with the second half strap, display engine(s) selectively renders and presents display content within a pivoted display area of one strap length by two strap width or less. In response to determining the first half strap is not in the juxtaposed parallel alignment but in serial alignment with the second half strap, the display engine(s) selectively renders and present displays content within a full-length display area of two half strap length by one strap width or less.

  • Patent number: 12205505
Abstract: An electronic device, method, and computer program product provide a flexible display that is configurable when being worn around a wrist of a user to increase a display width area. The electronic device includes a strap having an outer layer presenting the flexible display and an inner support layer attached to an underside of the flexible display. The strap is positionable between an uncoiled position and the coiled position with lateral edges of first and second terminal ends of the strap juxtaposed in abutted alignment. In response to determining the coiled position based on a sensor or a user interface input, a display driver of the electronic device selectively renders display content and presents rendered display content within a coil display area that is two straps wide of terminal ends of the strap in juxtaposed adjacent position.
