  • Patent number: 10006921
Abstract: Methods for detecting urogenital conditions or urogenital status in a subject are described comprising measuring urogenital markers or polynucleotides, encoding the markers in a sample from the subject. The invention also provides localization or imaging methods for urogenital conditions, and kits for carrying out the methods of the invention. The invention also contemplates therapeutic applications for urogenital conditions employing urogenital markers, polynucleotides encoding the markers, and/or binding agents for the markers.

  • Publication number: 20100130859
Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for detecting viable sperm in a subject having at least one testicle using high frequency ultrasound imaging. Also provided are high frequency ultrasound imaging systems and methods for screening a testicle for the presence of viable sperm, for predicting the success of vasectomy reversal in a subject, for identifying a damaged area of vas deferens in a subject, for detecting neoplasia in a subject having at least one testicle, for identifying a nerve in a subject, and for identifying small vessel anatomy in the penis of a subject.

  • Publication number: 20050186658
Abstract: The present invention provides chimeric receptors that include an extracellular domain from a metabotropic glutamate receptor and a non-native signal peptide, e.g., a calcium receptor signal peptide. The invention also includes methods of preparing such chimeric receptors, and methods of using such receptors to identify and characterize compounds which modulate the activity of metabotropic glutamate receptors. The invention also relates to compounds and methods for modulating metabotropic glutamate receptor activity and binding to metabotropic glutamate receptors. Modulation of metabotropic glutamate receptor activity can be used for different purposes such as treating neurological disorders and diseases, inducing an analgesic effect, cognition enhancement, and inducing a muscle-relaxant effect.
