Abstract: A fiber optic cable includes a cable core of core elements and a protective sheath surrounding the core elements, an armor surrounding the cable core, the armor comprising a single overlap portion when the fiber optic cable is viewed in cross-section, and a jacket surrounding the armor, the jacket having at least two longitudinal discontinuities extruded therein. A method of accessing the cable core without the use of ripcords includes removing a portion of the armor in an access section by pulling the armor away from the cable core so that an overlap portion separates around the cable core as it is being pulled past the cable core. A protective sheath protects the core elements as the armor is being pulled around the cable core.

Abstract: A user interface includes a display for displaying of a plurality of sensor data sets representative of signals associated with a plurality of sensors configured for sensing of a subsurface. At least some of the sensors are configured for subsurface sensing in a manner differing from other sensors of the plurality of sensors. Each of the sensor data sets comprises sensor data samples each associated with geographic position data. The sensor data sets are shown overlaid within a volume depicted on the display. The graphical representations of the sensor data sets are individually viewable within the volume and displayed in geographical alignment relative to one another within the volume in accordance with the geographic position data of the sensor data samples of each of the sensor data sets.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods for screening an agent for activity in modulating a T lymphocyte. The methods generally comprises contacting a HSV US3-expressing cell with a T lymphocyte in the presence or absence of the agent and monitoring a physiological change associated with CTL function to determine whether the agent modulates CTL activity. In particular, the HSV US3-expressing cell line can be a HSV-infected fibroblast and the physiological change associated with CTL function is a reduction or inhibition of the phosphorylation of HSP90 and/or a 50 kD CTL protein. Also disclosed are methods for blocking suppression of CTL activity against HSV-infected target cells, as well as methods for suppressing CTL activity against a target antigen.
