  • Patent number: 6378659
Abstract: A hydraulic pool lift is disclosed. The lift has enhanced stability due to its adjustable support assembly, and a reinforced piston rod. A load carrying component is rotated 180° from a deck position to a pool position. A curved track on a hydraulically driven piston guides the displacement of the load carrying component. The track is wider in its straight portions. The wider straight portion closely approximates the width of a notch in an end cap through which the track and piston travel. This arrangement affords greater stability in the uppermost position for ease of loading and unloading the lift.

  • Patent number: 5572921
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved hydraulic lift system comprising a cylinder housing preferably in the shape of a regular polygon which applies compressive force to a cylinder within the cylinder housing. This cylinder is preferably made from extruded plastic. Within the cylinder is a three ringed piston to which is attached a piston rod. The piston rod is adapted for connection to a horizontal cantilevered arm assembly. The improved lift permits cantilevered transport from specially designed handicapped chairs and stretchers for access to and egress from a pool or spa.

  • Patent number: 5218727
Abstract: A lift apparatus for an above ground spa or pool to enable a handicapped or infirm person access to and egress from the spa or pool without the need for an attendant to assist them. The lift comprises an upright base securely mounted adjacent to one wall of the above ground spa. The base supports a lift arm assembly having a seat mounted thereon. Lift and rotate controls are provided to permit the seat occupant to raise the seat to a fully elevated position above the wall of the spa, to swing the seat and occupant across the wall and to lower the seat to a desired height within the spa. The lift arm is powered by water driven hydraulics which are configured such that the seat can only be pivoted when it is in its fully elevated position above the wall of the spa.

  • Patent number: 4283803
Abstract: A swimming pool lift installation for the handicapped employs a platform for carrying a wheelchair that is lowered and elevated with the platform so that a handicapped person can sit on his chair and be lowered into the pool for swimming away from the chair and can leave the pool by swimming back into the wheelchair. The chair is releasably secured to the platform so that there is no danger of it being rendered unstable by its buoyancy in the water and so that it can be wheeled on and off the platform. A water hydraulic system operates the lift to avoid contamination of the pool.
