  • Patent number: 11622216
Abstract: Systems and methods for interactive mobile fitting of hearing aids are provided. The method includes a mobile device receiving a reduced size fitting data set having a set of sampling points from a hearing aid. The method includes interpolating the reduced size fitting data set into a continuous fitting curve presented at a display of the mobile device with user interface objects that each correspond with one or more sampling points. The method includes receiving a user input manipulating a user interface object. The user input adjusts a value of sampling point(s) corresponding to the user interface object to generate an updated reduced size fitting data set that is communicated to the hearing aid. The method includes generating a substitute complete fitting data set based on the updated reduced size fitting data set for application to input audio to generate modified audio that is output from the hearing aid.

  • Patent number: 6748089
Abstract: The present invention provides a switch method and apparatus that is switchable among a plurality of operational modes by attenuating an input audio signal detected by the apparatus. The apparatus includes a microphone which converts the input audio signal to an input electrical signal (IES), a first memory which stores a threshold value, a second memory which stores at least one parameter set, a selector which is responsive to the first memory and to the IES for selecting a first parameter set as an enabled parameter set, and a signal conditioner coupled to the IES, the signal conditioner being responsive to the IES and to an enabled parameter set for producing a conditioned electrical signal (CES).

  • Patent number: 6717537
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for minimizing latency in digital signal processing paths. One example is an active noise cancellation device. The system includes a digital closed feedback loop having a forward path and a feedback path. The forward path includes a compensation filter, a digital-to-analog converter, and an output transducer. The feedback path includes an input transducer, a feedback delta-sigma modulator, and a feedback sampling-rate converter. An input signal is processed in one of several ways into a processed digital input signal having a preselected intermediate sampling rate. Through the feedback path, an analog output signal is processed into a digital feedback signal having substantially the same preselected intermediate sampling rate. The processed digital input signal and the digital feedback signal are combined and processed through the forward path to produce an anti disturbance signal that is combined with a disturbance signal to form the analog output signal.

  • Patent number: 6702386
Abstract: A height and pivot-adjustable office chair arm assembly with an arm rest that can be raised to different vertical positions by actuation of a gas cylinder and having a shroud surrounding and vertically movable with respect to at least a portion of an arm support that is hollow and surrounds the gas cylinder such that the shroud is vertically movable in relation to at least a portion of the arm support. The shroud is connected to the gas cylinder at an upper end for vertical movement by the gas cylinder. An arm rest pivot support is attached only to the shroud and receives the arm rest assembly and enables the arm rest assembly to pivot in a horizontal plane thereby allowing the arm rest assembly to assume any selected rotational position.

  • Patent number: 6669292
Abstract: An ergonomic chair includes a four-bar linkage arrangement wherein a lower frame member is provided with a rigid front support and a rigid rear support with a seat member pivotably connected to the front support. A back rest has an upper support pivotably connected at an upper end of the rear support of the lower frame member. A link member pivotably connects at a first end to a rear support of the seat member and at second end to a lower support of the back rest. This novel arrangement permits tilting movement of the backrest rearwardly relative to the lower frame member causing elevation of a rear portion of the seat member, permitting the feet to remain on the floor and alleviating pressure on the user's thighs, while rotation occurs closely coincident with the pivot axis of the user's hips and while maintaining a generally uniform gaze line.

  • Patent number: 6574342
Abstract: A method for fitting a hearing compensation device comprises selecting a plurality of loudness levels for a plurality of frequencies and comparing each loudness level for each frequency for perceived sameness. The loudness levels may then be adjusted as needed to achieve perceived sameness across the frequency spectrum. A gain curve for each frequency is calculated from the selected plurality of loudness levels.
