Patent number: 8909205Abstract: An indication of an activated call forwarding feature is provided for a mobile telephone/computing device. When a call forwarding feature is activated, an indication may be presented on the device to indicate the call forwarding feature is currently active. The indication may be visual, audible or tactile. The indication serves as a reminder to the user of the device that the call forwarding feature is active. The indication may be presented on the device continuously until the user deactivates the feature, or the indication may be presented only when incoming calls are actually forwarded. Selectable functions may be enabled on the device for changing the call forwarding activation state and for overriding call forwarding for an in-progress forwarding call.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2010Date of Patent: December 9, 2014Assignee: Cox Communications, Inc.Inventors: Keith Lawrence Davis, Douglas David Gravino, Radhakrishnan Gopinath, Michael L. Patent number: 8574087Abstract: A mechanical ride safety system for automatically disabling a mechanical ride in response to a rider losing his/her grip on the ride. The mechanical ride safety system generally includes a gripping member that is grasped by a rider when the ride in in use. The gripping member includes a sensing member which is adapted to sense whether the gripping member is being grasped or has been released. A processing unit and transmitter are communicatively interconnected with the sensing member so that a signal may be transmitted when the gripping member is released. A receiver is communicatively interconnected with the control unit of the mechanical ride such that, upon receiving a signal indicating that the gripping member has been released, the control unit will automatically disable the mechanical ride to prevent injury to the rider.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2011Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Inventors: Ian F. Newcombe, Keith Lawrence

Patent number: 8468328Abstract: System and method for verifying compatibility of computer equipment with a software product. A system and method are provided to verify compatibility of computer equipment with software. This verification can include gathering information about configurations of the computer equipment, and creating at least one file based on the information. The file or files coordinate testing of the computer equipment. The testing produces results that can be stored and analyzed or evaluated. The results can be contained in a file or a plurality of files. The results provide a description of the configurations in addition to an indication of whether the testing has produced any failures. The configuration descriptions or parts thereof can be stored in a configuration database that can be used to apply credit against future testing of computer equipment so that future testing needs can be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2009Date of Patent: June 18, 2013Assignee: Red Hat, Inc.Inventors: Lawrence Edward Troan, Robin Joel Landry, David Keith Lawrence, Willard Gordon Woods

Patent number: 8207270Abstract: Provided are thermoplastic elastomer compositions, many dynamically vulcanized, with superior crystallization kinetics, methods for making the compositions and articles made therefrom. The thermoplastic elastomer compositions comprise at least a propylene polymer thermoplastic, a rubber and a crystallization additive. The processes for preparation of the thermoplastic elastomer compositions comprises dynamic vulcanization of mixture of a propylene polymer thermoplastic, a rubber and a cure agent followed by addition of a crystallization additive. Further, preparation of articles from the thermoplastic elastomer compositions may be accomplished through traditional thermoforming operations useful with conventional thermoplastics.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2006Date of Patent: June 26, 2012Assignee: ExxonMobil Chemical Patents Inc.Inventors: Randal Howard Kerstetter, III, Gary Keith Lawrence
