Patent number: 11754675Abstract: Various examples are provided related to penetrating radar based upon precursors. In one example, a method includes transmitting a radio frequency (RF) signal; and receiving a return signal associated with the RF signal, where the return signal is a precursor having no exponential decay. The precursor can be one of a sequence of precursors, which can be used to improve resolution of the system. The RF signal can be a short pulse generated by an RF front end, without automatic level control. The return signal can be processed without filtering.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2019Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA RESEARCH FOUNDATION, INCORPORATEDInventors: Timothy Edward Olson, Scott Keith Lindsey

Patent number: 10855107Abstract: A system and method for determining a reliability line rating for a transmission line is disclosed. In response to a line clearance measurement and a line temperature measurement received from a transmission line monitor coupled to a transmission line, the system generates a temperature-clearance model for the transmission line based on the received line clearance measurement and line temperature measurement. The system generates a plurality of past dynamic line ratings and determines a scaling factor based on the plurality of past dynamic line ratings. The system then generates a dynamic line rating for an interval of time in the future and scales the dynamic line rating in response to the scaling factor to obtain a reliability line rating for the interval.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2017Date of Patent: December 1, 2020Assignee: Lindsey Manufacturing Co.Inventors: Ryan Bliss, Keith Lindsey, John McCall

Patent number: 10154385Abstract: In implementations of creating a communication group, a mobile device can receive a selection to enable communication of location information between devices that correspond to entities from a group of entities associated with a user of the mobile device. The mobile device can receive location information that describes a physical location or proximity of the devices that correspond to the entities, and present in a user interface on a display device, a visual representation that indicates at least one of the entities is at a location within a pre-set distance of the mobile device. A communication group can be created that includes the entities selected from the group of entities associated with the user of the mobile device. The mobile device can also communicate the location information of the mobile device to all of the devices that correspond to the entities as a group communication based on the communication group.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2017Date of Patent: December 11, 2018Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Darren Alexander Apfel, Jonathan David Friedman, Keith Lindsey Rowe, Rosanna H. Patent number: 9578468Abstract: This document describes tools capable of enabling users of mobile communication devices to create communication groups quickly and easily. With such a communication group a user may call, text, or instant message all persons in the group at once by selecting the communication group rather than each person in the group. In one embodiment, the tools enable a user to build a communication group by dragging and dropping indicators for persons he or she knows from one area of a screen into another area. In another embodiment, the tools automatically collect persons from those that the user knows based on one or more criteria. The user may then easily create a communication group of those collected persons, such as by tapping on an area of a mobile device's display.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 2014Date of Patent: February 21, 2017Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Darren Alexander Apfel, Jonathan David Friedman, Keith Lindsey Rowe, Rosanna H. Publication number: 20060202664Abstract: A power supply generated through a set of current transformers is disclosed. The current transformers may be removably attached to a primary power line such as a high voltage power line. The power supply may be used to power a device or charge a battery for a device that requires a low voltage input. The power supply may be used in underground vaults and pad mounted chambers that contain high voltage power lines. The power supply may generate a low voltage direct current out put that is not available in the vicinity of high voltage power lines in an underground vault or pad mounted chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2005Publication date: September 14, 2006Inventors: Keith Lindsey, Dusan Striez, James Landes

Publication number: 20060162058Abstract: A combination toilet seat and bidet apparatus includes a toilet seat member formed with a top wall, a continuous arcuate outer sidewall extending between opposite ends of a back wall and an inner sidewall defining, in part, a seat opening. An arcuate nozzle support arm is mounted on the seat member for rotation about an axis generally normal to the longitudinal axis of the seat member. An operating handle is connected to the arm at one side of the seat and a water flow control valve and operating handle are mounted on the seat opposite the arm operating handle for controlling water flow to a water jet nozzle mounted on the arm. The arm is adapted to be moved to selected working positions by the arm operating handle, and water flow may be selectively varied at will.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Applicant: STEVEN L. Patent number: 6481698Abstract: This invention is directed to a dual barrel carburetor for a motorcycle. The preferred carburetor includes a novel combination of a fuel bowl assembly, a metering assembly, a main body assembly, and an air plenum assembly. The dual barrel carburetor includes annular discharge booster venturis associated with a main fuel delivery circuit. An idle circuit opens downstream of the throttle plates. A transfer circuit discharge port is positioned across the throttle plates. The combination of the idle, transfer and main fuel circuits ensures the smooth delivery of fuel throughout all operating conditions of the motorcycle engine. The plenum manifold assembly includes a pair of air passages in fluid communication with one another to permit a final opportunity to optimize the fuel delivery to the respective combustion chambers.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2000Date of Patent: November 19, 2002Assignee: Holley Performance Products, Inc.Inventors: Michael E. Patent number: 5677708Abstract: A system for displaying a list of items containing information or alternative choices associated with a subscriber service of an interactive network system. At least one item in the list is displayed in its entirety. The items at the border of the list are only partially displayed to give the user an indication that the list extends beyond the borders of the list. Additional list items can be displayed by scrolling the list by manipulating a directional control on a remote control unit that operates in conjunction with a set-top terminal of the interactive system. An item in the list, or another control object on the display screen, is highlighted in a manner to give the user a visible indication that the list can be scrolled, or shifted, within the display to display new items in the list and remove previously displayed items.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 1995Date of Patent: October 14, 1997Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Joseph H. Matthews, III, JoGene Kapell, Keith Lindsey Rowe
