  • Patent number: 10247036
Abstract: A pressure fed oil drain for gas turbine engine (10) includes an oil sump (48) and a passage (60, 63) in selective flow communication with the oil sump (48), the passage in flow communication with a drain (62), the passage being pressurized and creating a differential between the passage and ambient atmosphere (65), the drain is disposed at an elevation beneath a passage feature (64) when the turbine engine is disposed at an extreme attitude angle, the passage (63) extending upwardly when in the extreme attitude angle.

  • Publication number: 20040229561
Abstract: A tuner is provided for selecting for reception any one of a plurality of channels in a broadband radio frequency signal supplied to its input. The tuner comprises a plurality of stages, at least some of whose gains and power consumptions can be adjusted by a controller in accordance with prevailing reception conditions. A frequency changer and variable gain amplifier provide a first filtering arrangement to reject non-adjacent channels and a tuneable filter rejects substantially all but the selected channel. Signal levels before the first filtering arrangement, between the first filtering arrangement and a second filtering arrangement formed by the tuneable filter, and after the second arrangement are supplied to the controller, which adapts the gain structure and/or individual stage power consumptions according to the prevailing reception conditions so as to provide an adequate performance for demodulation while reducing power consumption when extreme reception conditions are not encountered.

  • Patent number: 5812023
Abstract: A voltage offset compensation circuit for a high gain amplifier having a fixed input voltage offset, includes sample and hold circuitry for periodically sampling the offset voltage and gain error voltage of the amplifier, and holding the sampled voltage; storage circuitry, operable between sampling periods, to store the sampled and held voltage; and further circuitry, operable during the sampling periods, to continuously maintain the output of the high gain amplifier at a value that is gain error and voltage offset compensated. The voltage offset compensation circuit may be used in sampled-data circuits, or continuous-time amplifier circuits utilizing either single-ended, or differential, inputs and either single-ended, or differential, outputs.
