  • Patent number: 7336354
Abstract: A spectrophotometer having an optical system for directing a beam of substantially monochromatic excitation light to a liquid sample contained in a well (3) of a well plate for interaction with the sample for absorption or emission measurements to analyse the sample. The optical system includes two apertures (46, 28) for establishing a Kohler illumination region outside the well, that is an excitation beam region between conjugate images (18, 21) of the two apertures. This excitation beam region is then demagnified and imaged (10, 9) into the well (3). The invention provides for the shape of the Kohler illumination region to correspond to the shape of the well space so that all of the liquid sample is uniformly illuminated without the well obstructing any portion of the illuminating excitation beam of light.

  • Publication number: 20030202119
Abstract: A video processing system directly upsamples cinema material to a video frame rate that is a multiple of the fundamental cinema frame rate of 24 frames per second. A video display processor is configured to directly accept video images at a variety of frame rates, including the cinema frame rate of 24 fps. A frame buffer is suitably configured to accept the video images at the recorded frame rate and provides a corresponding video stream at a frame rate that is an integer multiple of the recorded frame rate. By providing the video stream at this frame rate, the anomalies and artifacts caused by non-integer or non-uniform upsampling are avoided. Correspondingly, a video processor is configured to provide the video images at standard television resolutions, but at the original recorded frame rate, to minimize temporal anomalies and artifacts.

  • Publication number: 20030142240
Abstract: A digital video interface device interfaces a digital video signal transmitted from a first, source, digital video processing device to a plurality of second digital video processing devices. The digital video interface device receives a digital video signal having a transition minimized differential signaling (TMDS) format, translates the received digital video signal to a second signaling format, buffers the translated digital video signal to produce a plurality of substantially identical buffered translated digital video signals, and translates each of the plurality of substantially identical buffered translated digital video signals back to the TMDS format.

  • Patent number: 6058624
Abstract: In fluidized spray drying of a feedstock to produce an agglomerate product by means of at least one spraying device (7) arranged in the upper part (2) of a vertically disposed drying chamber (1), in a lower part of which a fluid-bed is accommodated, a drying gas introduced into a processing zone (16) of the chamber (1) is exhausted through an integrated arrangement of filter elements (11) in the upper chamber part (2) to retain and allow agglomeration of the particles carried by the flow of drying gas on the filter elements (11).By intermittent supply of reverse flow gas pulses to the filter elements (11) the retained particles are released and returned to agglomeration zones (16, 17).The drying gas is introduced at a rate producing at the filter walls (13) a flow rate amounting to at least 150 cubic meters per hour per square meter of filter wall surface.
