  • Publication number: 20210149980
Abstract: Connections among two different entities are identified by processing a collection of documents to identify one or more documents that contain co-occurring mentions of each of the two different entities. This relationship may be graphically displayed in a user interface with an icon or the like for each of the two entities, along with a graphical link interconnecting the entities. The graphical link can be an active element of the user interface that responds to user interactions by providing access to evidence within the collection of documents that substantiates the connection between the two entities. In one aspect, a search input form field in a user interface may be used to explicitly request documents that substantiate a relationship between two entities. In another aspect, a user may ground entity mentions by explicitly selecting documents that mention an entity of interest.

  • Publication number: 20210021545
Abstract: A packet switch includes an ingress port; queue admission control circuitry connected to the ingress port; one or more egress queues configured to manage packet buffers; and an egress port connected to the packet buffers, wherein the packet buffers are managed such that already queued lower priority packets are discarded from the packet buffers when it is required to drop higher priority packets that should otherwise be accepted in the packet buffers. The queue admission control circuitry can be configured to determine if a packet should be dropped or not, and the queue admission control circuitry communicates to buffer reallocation circuitry that is configured to discard one or more lower priority packets to support enqueuing the higher priority packet.

  • Patent number: 10839021
Abstract: A journal of operations persistently stores a collection of user and machine interactions with documents, concepts within documents, and relationships/mentions among such documents and concepts. A knowledge graph or other visual expression can be used to provide an interactive format for user interactions with this information, and to visually display the accumulated information in the journal of operations on user's device of choice. Such accumulations are often called aggregations or aggregates. Both human users and computer users such as automated recommendation engines, machine learning algorithms, and the like can interact with the journal of operations to facilitate computer-assisted discovery and organization of data around a topic of interest to the human user. The resulting journal of operations and aggregations of those operations such as a knowledge graph or other visual expression(s) also provides a useful medium for sharing knowledge with other users and collaborating on investigation of a topic.

  • Patent number: 10789577
Abstract: All equipment will fail if not properly maintained so it is imperative to check the state of the equipment, periodically. Accordingly, an assessment system including an equipment analyzer is provided for analyzing the state of equipment. The analyzer includes an interactive interface for arranging a plurality of selectable assessment elements. Each element represents an assessment procedure for evaluating a state of equipment and is linked to a respective process pipeline. A controller activates a tool in the process pipeline for carrying out an assessing task. The controller verifies whether the task is complete based on feedback provided by the user and stores the feedback for generating reports. Whether a tool is activated or a task can be completed is limited to when the user is at the point of evaluation. Accordingly, the assessment system can ensure that evaluations are accurately completed at the time of evaluation.

  • Patent number: 10598198
Abstract: A mount device is disclosed for securing a swimming starting block to a floor. In at least one embodiment, the mount device provides an upper mount conduit engagable with the starting block and sized for at least partially extending into a receiver conduit in the floor. A lower mount conduit is positioned below the upper mount conduit and has an outer diameter or width sized for being completely positioned within the receiver conduit. An expansion bolt extends through respective substantially coaxially aligned bores of each of the upper mount conduit and the lower mount conduit, each of the bores having a diameter that is relatively larger than a diameter the bolt. Upon tightening the expansion bolt, the lower mount conduit is urged along an angled common axis toward the upper mount conduit, such that opposing long outside surfaces of the upper mount conduit and lower mount conduit are urged in opposite, substantially horizontal directions, creating a frictional engagement within the receiver conduit.
