  • Publication number: 20240109564
Abstract: A method is provided that can include activating at least two wireless communication channels in parallel, between a first wireless transceiver and a second wireless transceiver. Each of the at least two wireless communication channels can operate at a different radio carrier frequency, and the first wireless transceiver may be part of a first vehicle. The method can also include transmitting, by the first wireless transceiver, common information in parallel on the at least two wireless communication channels to the second wireless transceiver and deactivating the at least two wireless communication channels.

  • Patent number: 8396177
Abstract: Interference carrier regeneration and interference cancellation involve generating a Cross Polarization Interference Cancellation (XPIC) error signal representative of a difference between a first signal derived from a first communication signal that is received over a wireless communication link and a first symbol decision that is based on the first signal. The first communication signal is affected by interference from a second communication signal, on an orthogonal polarization channel of the same nominal frequency channel, for example. Based on the XPIC error signal and a second symbol decision for the second communication signal, a carrier of interference affecting the first signal from the second communication signal is regenerated. A rotation and derotation arrangement rotates a cross-channel interference signal and derotates a main channel equalizer feedback signal based on the regenerated interference carrier.

  • Patent number: 8327786
Abstract: A personal watercraft system includes a watercraft, a frame, and a cover. The watercraft includes a deck and a hull and defines a hatch providing access to a cargo hold. The frame is coupled with the watercraft and defines a channel on a side of the hatch and a cavity in communication with the channel. The cover includes a fabric portion and a rod extending along and coupled with a side margin thereof. The cover is secured to the personal watercraft on an opposite side of the hatch. When compression is applied to the rod, the rod flexes to fit within the channel aligning an end of the rod with the cavity. When the compression is subsequently removed from the rod, the rod returns to its original length and the end of the rod slides into the cavity securing the cover to entirely cover the hatch.

  • Patent number: 8036332
Abstract: Communication signal symbol timing error detection and recovery apparatus and techniques are disclosed. A communication signal that includes symbols is sampled according to receive symbol timing. The samples are band-edge filtered to provide a filtered output signal including band edges of the samples. The filtered output signal is converted to baseband, and a phase error of the receive symbol timing is calculated based on the down converted baseband signal. The communication signal may include symbols associated with quadrature channels, in which case a respective filtered output signal that includes band edges of samples associated with each quadrature channel may be down converted. The down converted baseband signals may then be separated into upper and lower band-edge signals, which are used to calculate a phase error of the receive symbol timing. The upper and lower band-edge signals may also be used for other purposes, such as slope equalization and/or carrier synchronization.

  • Patent number: 7562635
Abstract: A kayak portaging device which incorporates a seat backrest into the yoke design, making the portaging yoke an integral part of the kayak. A u-shaped device, with a transverse yoke frame, and parallel pivot arms extending from the ends of the yoke frame to pivot points on the kayak hull forward of the seat. A curved backrest is incorporated within the u-shaped device. The device rotates from a backrest position behind the kayak seat for use while paddling, forward to an inverted position over the kayak's center of gravity for portaging. “L” brackets with padded ends are mounted on the backside of the yoke frame extending downwards. Bottle holders attached to the “L” brackets are accessible to a seated kayaker. When rotated to the inverted portaging position, pivot arms are held against positive stops by a magnetic catch, and “L” brackets now extend upwards providing elevated shoulder rests for portaging.

  • Publication number: 20060165488
Abstract: A hand held tamping device comprises an engine, an elongated housing, and a connection chamber. The engine is coupled by a clutch to a drive shaft and is capable of rotating the drive shaft. The elongated housing includes a tamping tube to tamp an object. The connection chamber houses the drive shaft and connects the engine and the elongated housing. The drive shaft extends into the elongated housing and is fixedly coupled to an eccentric drive that rotates with the drive shaft and is attached to a connecting rod that is coupled to the eccentric drive at the proximal end of the connecting rod and extends into the tamping tube at the distal end of the connecting rod. The distal end of the connecting rod is fixedly coupled to the tamping tube. The proximal end of the connecting rod rotates with the eccentric drive and the distal end of the connecting rod moves up and down in the elongated housing facilitating the tamping tube moving up and down in the elongated housing as the engine rotates the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 5256375
Abstract: A mixing device for use in a duct (12), particularly for use when testing the efficiency of a filter (10) in the duct by aerosol injection, consists of a pipe (24) with a closed end arranged near the middle of the duct (12). The other end of the pipe is connected to a source (26) of compressed air. Near the closed end are one or more narrow holes (28) so that narrow air jets are created across the width of the duct. The air jets create large-scale turbulence in air flowing in the duct, even where that air flow was already turbulent, such that thorough mixing is achieved within as little as two duct diameters or less, while producing negligible pressure drop. The mixing device may be combined with an aerosol injector (20, 22).

  • Patent number: 4594950
Abstract: A decorative table combination includes a transparent top supported above a base, and a marine or aquatic creature figure representing a duck, beaver, whale, etc. To create the illusion that the creature is swimming or floating, with the transparent top representing the surface of the creature's habitat, the figure is cut at its natural water line. An upper portion of the figure is supported on the table top, and a lower portion, representing the submerged legs and feet, e.g., of the swimming or floating creature, is supported on the under surface of the table top, directly beneath the upper portion. The two portions can be joined magnetically across the table top. Supports for the table can be fashioned to resemble submerged driftwood, tree branches, or lily pad stems, with suitable continuation members on the table top to give the illusion that the support members break the water's surface.
