  • Patent number: 7369834
Abstract: An impedance-matched IQ network includes a phase shift circuit and a back termination. The phase shift circuit includes an in-phase mixer port for receiving the in-phase signal, a quadrature-phase mixer port for receiving the quadrature phase signal, a termination port, and an output port. The back termination is coupled to the termination port of the phase shift circuit, the back termination having an impedance value substantially equal to the characteristic impedance of the phase shift circuit at the termination port.

  • Patent number: 7271640
Abstract: A mixer circuit configured to operate in a bypass or mixing mode, and which comprises a mixer core, and a mode select circuit. The mixer core includes first and second switches, each of which has an input, and first and second outputs. The mode select circuit is coupled to the mixer core and includes third and fourth switches, which are collectively configured to operate in either a first state corresponding to the bypass mode, or a second state corresponding to the mixing mode. The input of the first switch is configured to receive a signal at a first frequency, wherein the first and second switches are configured to switch between their respective first and second outputs at a second frequency, and wherein, responsive to the state of the third and fourth switches, the first output of the first switch, and the second output of the second switch are each configured to output a signal which is either (i) at the first frequency, or (ii) a mixing product of the first and second frequencies.

  • Publication number: 20040214537
Abstract: A cascadable AGC amplifier in a signal distribution system includes a low noise cascadable amplifier having a through path and a cascadable output. The cascadable amplifier is also configured to provide AGC over a predetermined input power range. The cascadable AGC amplifier can be configured to provide gain or attenuation. When the cascadable AGC amplifier is implemented in a signal distribution system, typically as part of a signal distribution device, an input signal can be gain controlled and supplied to multiple signal paths without distortion due to degradation of signal to noise ratio or distortion due to higher order amplifier products. The distributed signal is not significantly degraded by distortion regardless of the number of cascadable AGC amplifiers connected in series or the position of the cascadable AGC amplifier in the signal distribution system.

  • Publication number: 20040209584
Abstract: Multiple input signal sources in predetermined frequency bands are each applied to block frequency converters. Each block frequency converter frequency converts an input signal to one of a plurality of predetermined frequency bands. A crosspoint switch is configured to route the frequency converted input signals at one of the plurality of predetermined frequency bands to any one of a plurality of available band translation devices. Each of the band translation devices is configured to frequency convert the signal from a first predetermined frequency band to a second predetermined frequency band. Output signals from one or more band translation devices can be combined into a composite signal.

  • Patent number: 4910653
Abstract: In a power converter having a resonant output circuit transformer coupled to a load circuit, a transformer coupling circuit comprises at least two transformers providing a coupling stage having inductively coupled windings that are in step down relationship to an input and/or output winding of the transformer coupling circuit. This enables the rate of change of voltage in the coupling stage to be reduced and thus correspondingly reduces the transmission of interference from the power converter to the load circuit.
