  • Patent number: 10584495
Abstract: A roof venting system for removing warm and moist air from the interior of a building to the outside through a vent opening in the roof. The system includes a vent cover member for placement over the vent opening and two foam members through which the indoor warm and moist air must pass when the air flows from the building interior to the outside. The foam members may be provided with a convoluted surface to facilitate close engagement to the roof profile, and a single piece foam may be used instead of the usual two. The foam and cover members may be flexible, reticulated polyurethane treated with one or more substances to enhance fire resistance and protect from heat/cold adverse weather.

  • Patent number: 9234353
Abstract: A cover mat suitable for use in preventing debris from entering a rain gutter does not require support when positioned in the gutter other than by portions of the rain gutter engaging the cover mat. The cover mat is formed of a nonwoven polyester fiber material that is coated with a stiffening agent, such as a styrene monomer that will add stiffness without significantly affecting the flow of fluids through the porous or liquid permeable fiber mat.

  • Patent number: 9151059
Abstract: A roofing system, especially suited for use with metal roofing panels includes a V-shaped vent cover located above an air circulation vent at the crest or apex of a sloping roof. A vent closure strip in the form of a composite member is located in the gap between the vent cover and the roofing panels, which contain a series of ribs or protrusions forming an uneven surface. An air impermeable backing strip, which can be a closed cell foam, includes fastening blocks through which fasteners extend to fasten the vent cover to the roofing panels. Air permeable members are adhered to the backing strip. These air permeable members can be a reticulated foam with a convoluted lower surface for compressively conforming to the uneven upper surface of the roofing panels. The air permeable members are more porous and more dense than the air impermeable members.

  • Patent number: 8341891
Abstract: A filter for use with a rain gutter will prevent solid debris, such as leaves, from entering the gutter, but will not unduly restrict passage of rain water into and through the gutter. The filter comprises a liquid permeable strip that can be formed of a material, such as reticulated polyurethane foam. This strip is supported at the top of the gutter by a support member, which can be a thermoformed member, affixed to the underside of the strip. Legs, which can fold transversely to the strip will support the strip above the bottom of the gutter. When the legs are in a flat configuration, multiple filter members can be stacked for storage and shipping. Installation is essentially toolless and the filters can be cut to length.

  • Patent number: 7281629
Abstract: A package for a wide line, film ribbon which utilizes a pair of spaced-apart end pieces which engages a pair of spaced-apart end pieces engaging the end edges of the ribbon roll stored within the roll in multiple turns. A sheet of corrugated material is formed into a roll and inserted into the core opening of the film ribbon roll to stabilize the roll, and another sheet of corrugated material is wound about the outer surface of the roll to protect the surface and the roll itself from damage. A shrinkable overwrap encompasses the end pieces, the corrugated material, and the ribbon roll underneath to provide additional protection and maintain the components of the package and the film ribbon roll in a predetermined fixed relationship.
