  • Patent number: 5496615
Abstract: An exemplary waterproofing membrane comprises a carrier layer having a non-bituminous pressure-sensitive waterproofing adhesive, a protective layer coated on the non-bituminous adhesive, and a second waterproofing adhesive layer on the other face of the carrier to permit adherence of the membrane to a cementious surface and to permit concrete to be cast against the non-bituminous layer and protective coating and to be bonded thereto when cured. Further exemplary membranes comprise a dusted layer on the protective coating to permit foot traffic. The membranes of the invention are useful in so-called horizontal and vertical lagging installations. Methods for waterproofing between cementious surfaces, in tunnels, and on concrete decks are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5316848
Abstract: The present invention relates to a waterproofing membrane comprising a carrier, a synthetic adhesive coated on one face of the carrier substrate, and a protective layer coated on the synthetic adhesive. The present invention also relates to a method of waterproofing post cast concrete structures comprised of affixing a carrier to the inside of a concrete form and post casting concrete, wherein the carrier further comprises a synthetic adhesive coated with a protective coating. Furthermore, the present invention relates to post cast concrete structures comprising a waterproofing membrane adhered to all or part of the exposed surface of said structure, wherein said membrane comprises a carrier, a synthetic adhesive coated on one face of the carrier substrate, and a protective coating on the synthetic adhesive and wherein the protective coating face contacts said structure.

  • Patent number: 5263792
Abstract: This invention provides an improved rollable subterranean drainage core device which has T-shaped finned projections to which may be adhered a water-penetrable soil filtration fabric. The fin structure provides impact resistance and high compressive strength while providing high water channel flow-through capabilities. An exemplary method for fabricating the drainage device involves extruding a unitary finned polymeric core sheet having T-shaped projection members on at least one major side thereof, and then removing a portion of the fins in a cross direction at periodic intervals along the machine direction, so that individual T-shaped projection members are spaced in rows and columns on the rollable core sheet. The drainage core member is particularly suitable for use in conjunction with waterproofing membranes.
