  • Publication number: 20030186067
Abstract: Rolled metal substrate of aluminium, aluminium alloys or steel with a layer of an organic based and preferably clear and glossy lacquer/varnish. The lacquer/varnish or gel-coat comprises controlled amounts of inorganic polymer particles mainly with a size mainly in the range 1-100 nm, the particles being able to form a three-dimensional network that is independent of the organic network of the lacquer or with bondings to this network. The polymer particles are typically a reaction product obtained by hydrolysis and condensation reactions of monomer compounds chosen among the following groups: i) M(OR)n, or ii) R′-M(OR)n, where M is a metal ion, and R is an organic group chosen among alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or combination of such groups with from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, R′═R or R—X, where X is an organic group like e.g. amine, carboxyl or isocyanate, and n is an integer between 1 and 6.

  • Patent number: 5795562
Abstract: The present invention relates to contrast agents comprising gas-containing or gas-generating polymer microparticles and/or microballoons, in which the polymer is a biodegradable polymer containing units of formula -?--(O).sub.m --CO--O--C(R.sup.1 R.sup.2)--O--CO--(O).sub.n --!- . R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represent hydrogen or a carbon-attached monovalent organic group, or together form a carbon-attached divalent organic group, and m and n are each independently zero or one. The contrast agents may be used in diagnostic applications such as ultrasound and MR imaging.

  • Patent number: 5191019
Abstract: Method for production of a thermostable crosslinked halogen-containing polymer. Expoxygroups are added by way of a monomer as for example glycidylmethacrylate. The crosslinking of the polymer is carried out through an organic silane which can be hydrolyzed. By this method the crosslinking can be separated from the processing of the polymer as it is catalyzed by moisture after the processing is carried out. The crosslinking reaction is carried out very fast. Good thermostability is gained even if the halogen-containing monomer is vinylchloride.
