  • Patent number: 5083122
Abstract: A battery-powered security device for controlling access through a door by authorized uses which includes a lock operated by a low power driven motor; a keyboard by which a user enters codes or programming; a programmable circuit including a microprocessor, data memory and program memory. The device opens the lock in response to a correct code entered through the keyboard and/or to a chronological schedule enabled by a clock marking real time. An LED provides a wireless link to a hand-held printer so that the device may be programmed with access codes and time schedules and prints out a list of users and times of entry. The operative programs in memory can be added or modified by means of the keyboard. The coupling between the motor shaft and key plunger is designed to avoid accidental misuse such as a user holding the door handle while the motor is turning.

  • Patent number: 4864115
Abstract: Electronic access card comprising a printed circuit board. A microprocessor is carried by the printed circuit board. A plurality of keys are carried by the board. A matrix connects the keys to the microprocessor. A clock is coupled to the microprocessor. A battery is carried by the printed circuit board and coupled to the microprocessor. A coil serving as a transducer is carried by the printed circuit board and is coupled to the microprocessor and to the battery so that when keys are operated the keys are polled by the microprocessor and information is obtained from the keys supplied by the microprocessor to the transducer.

  • Patent number: 4808993
Abstract: Card for use in a security system having at least two rows of spaced apart metallic elements with a predetermined arrangement so that the metallic elements are encoded with a non-erasable code. An opaque material encases the metallic elements to form a card-like member and to make the metallic elements invisible to the human eye.Method for forming a card for use in a security system which comprises a metallic planar sheet and removing material from the sheet to provide a plurality of metallic elements arranged in at least two rows. At least portions of at least certain of the metallic elements are removed to place a unique code in the elements. The elements are then encased in an opaque material to form a card-like member and to conceal the metallic elements from the human eye.

  • Patent number: 4609780
Abstract: An apparatus for use in a secure entry system including a case and a container carried by the case. A mechanism is carried by the case and the container movable between container retaining and container access positions. A retainer is provided which is receivable by said case and movable between latched and unlatched positions. First and second electromagnetic latch mechanisms are carried within the case for use in operation of the container and the retainer respectively. A power supply is provided in the case. Circuitry is mounted within the case and connects the power supply to the first and second electromagnetic latch mechanisms. A code actuated assembly is carried by the case and is connected to the circuitry for selectively operating the first and second electromagnetic latch mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 4531840
Abstract: An apparatus (10) for proportioning and mixing liquid components of a solvent has a chamber (12) with a rotatable piston (24) mounted in the chamber. The chamber has a plurality of liquid component inlets (18, 20 and 22). Rotatable piston (24) has a notched portion (30). Relative lengths of time the notched portion (30) is opposite the inlets (18, 20 and 22) determine the proportion of liquid components supplied at each inlet port (18, 20 and 22) in the solvent mixture. Rotation of the piston (24) in the chamber (12) mixes the liquid components introduced through the inlet ports (18, 20 and 22). Stepper motor (32) is controlled by microprocessor (52) driven control system (50) to position the notched portion (30) at the inlet ports (18, 20 and 22) for variable lengths of time.
