    Abstract: The present invention is directed to electrodepositable coating compositions providing improved film flexibility and humidity resistance. The compositions contain a substantially ungelled resin or reaction product formed from reacting (i) an epoxy functional polyester with (ii) an amine. The present invention also includes a method for electrocoating a conductive substrate with the described electrodepositable coating compositions. Additionally, the present invention is directed to a conductive substrate coated according to the described method.

  • Process for forming a two-coat electrodeposited composite coating the composite coating and chip resistant electrodeposited coating composition

    Abstract: A process for applying two electrodeposited coatings, one on top of the other, to an electrically conductive substrate is provided. An electrically conductive first coating is applied to provide for corrosion resistance and a second polyurethane-based coating is applied to the first coating to provide chip resistance. Also, aqueous dispersions of the polyurethane coating compositions are disclosed.
