Abstract: A swinging bird perch assembly is provided for birds of various types. The perch assembly includes an arch-shaped frame supporting an elongated rod there between. The frame may be configured as a flat u-shaped lattice structure having a first end attached to a first end of the elongated rod and a second end attached to a second end of the elongated rod. The width of the lattice structure of the frame is adapted to accommodate various birds at one time. An attractant item may dangle from an upper end of the lattice structure. Alternatively, a feeder assembly may be attached to the elongated rod to hold a given quantity of a food source for the bird.

Abstract: A method for playing a card game with hybrid rules, which includes receiving wagers and dealing cards to form two- or three-card hands based on blackjack or poker wagering and dealing rules, valuing and ranking the two- or three-card hands based on modified baccarat valuing and ranking rules wherein a three-card hand outranks a two-card hand of equal sum modulo ten value, and resolving the wagers based on the valuing and ranking of the two- or three-card hands.

The directory dialer has a directory of names and a first name grammar and a second name grammar representing phonetic baseforms of first names and second names respectively. The method includes: receiving voice data for a spoken name after requesting a user to speak the required name; extracting a set of phonetic baseforms for the voice data; and finding the best matches between the extracted set of phonetic baseforms voice data and any combination of the first name grammar and the second name grammar. The method can further include: checking the best match against the directory of names; if the best match does not exist in the directory, informing the user and prompting the next best match as an alternative; and if the best match does exist in the directory, forwarding the call to that best match.

Abstract: A data processing system having a client system, a server system for connection to the client system, and a remote user terminal for connection to the server system. The client stores application code which is executed on receipt of a remote access request to generate output requests which are communicated to the server. The terminal issues the remote access request to the server. The output requests are display requests directed to manipulating the display screen, and non-display requests which can be processed independently of the terminal. The server forwards the remote access request to the client, stores decoding code, sends the decoding code to the terminal on detection of the remote access request, receives the output requests from the client, generates responses to the non-display requests on behalf of the terminal, returns the responses generated to the client and forwards the display requests to the terminal.

Abstract: In a telecommunication system having multiple timing subsystems receiving and distributing redundant timing signals, there is provided a circuitry for aligning first and second redundant timing signals and switching therebetween. The circuitry includes a selecting and switching circuitry for receiving the first and second redundant timing signals and designating one of the redundant timing signals as ACTIVE and the other as INACTIVE, and providing the ACTIVE timing signal as an output timing reference signal. The selecting and switching circuitry further switching the ACTIVE and INACTIVE timing signal designation and output timing reference signal in response to detecting fault or a clock switching command. The ACTIVE timing signal is provided to a first delay path having a programmable delay value, which delays it and produces a first output timing signal. A second delay path receives the INACTIVE redundant timing signal and produces a second output timing signal.
