Patent number: 9545655Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed which are suitable for use in the manufacture of two-piece metal containers. In particular, the method and apparatus disclose a way of making cups from metal sheet using a combination of stretching and (re-)drawing operations. The resulting cups have the advantage of reducing the thickness of the base of the cup relative to the ingoing gauge of material.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2011Date of Patent: January 17, 2017Assignee: Crown Packaging Technology, Inc.Inventors: Jonathan Riley, Alain Presset, Stuart Monro, Keith Vincent

Patent number: 6755188Abstract: A convertible grill and fireplace having a single firebox and lid, both of which may be used in both a grill configuration and a fireplace configuration. A detachable and foldable screen assembly is used in the fireplace configuration. The screen assembly fits between the firebox and the lid, and includes a series of panels that may be folded together to form a compact unit. Successive panels of the screen assembly are shorter in length so that they may be folded into one another. This feature permits the screens to be folded into a compact configuration, even if the screen assembly and the convertible grill and fireplace have a circular cross-section. The convertible grill and fireplace also includes retractable legs so that the firebox may be lowered or raised as desired.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2002Date of Patent: June 29, 2004Assignee: The Coleman Company, Inc.Inventors: Keith Vincent Skidmore, Jordan Gabriel Rockstad

Patent number: 5837288Abstract: One aspect of the invention is to provide methods for the storage of electrophoresis gels, particularly, electrophoresis gels adapted for polynucleotide sequencing. The invention provides numerous methods of preparing a packaged electrophoresis gel or gel assembly. The subject methods include the steps of inserting an electrophoresis gel or gel assembly into the interior chamber of a storage container, removing air from the interior chamber, and hermetically sealing the storage container so as to provide a sealed package containing an electrophoresis gel in a reduced atmospheric environment. Preferably, the interior chamber is flushed with an inert gas prior to the sealing process. Another aspect of the invention is to provide packaged electrophoresis gels. The packaged electrophoresis gels include a hermetically sealed storage container having an interior chamber. The interior chamber contains a gel or gel assembly suitable for electrophoresis.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1996Date of Patent: November 17, 1998Assignee: StratageneInventors: Keith Vincent Sylvester, Joseph Sorge
