    Abstract: A coat for hunting dogs comprises a cape member fitting over the dog, defining a neck opening and having cooperating edges secured to one another by fasteners, preferably magnetic, allowing the dog to free itself from the coat on command. The coat is secured to a fixed member, such as a boat or the ground, whereby it is retained in position after the dog frees itself.
