  • Publication number: 20040245908
Abstract: Horizontal support bodies supporting a color selection electrode in horizontal direction are supported by vertical support bodies extending in vertical direction. The vertical support bodies have positioning holes, respectively, and the positioning holes are disposed in horizontal direction. Positioning pins are engaged in the positioning holes, respectively. The positioning pins move in horizontal direction so that the support frame structure is positioned in horizontal direction and vertical direction.

  • Publication number: 20040192150
Abstract: H-members (11) each have an approximately triangular shape in cross section, and are controlled to be small in thickness especially for weight reduction. A position for applying a pressure by a pressure member (23) is determined in such a way that a contact surface (27) of the pressure member (23), which comes into contact with the H-members (11), covers a joint (S1) between two sides of each of the H-members (11) having an approximately triangular shape in cross section. The pressure member (23) applies a pressure through surface-to-surface contact, and thereafter, grille strips (12) are cooperatively fixed to the H-members (11). As a result, a tension distribution causing no degradation of a display oscillation property is obtained. Further, application of a pressure by the pressure member (23) causes no partial deformation of the H-members (11), whereby generation of a wrinkle is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20040189179
Abstract: A frame (3) for supporting a color selection electrode body (2) under tension includes a pair of first frames (10) arranged in the horizontal direction and a pair of second frames (20) arranged in the vertical direction. The first frames (10) are each formed by bending a sheet material into a substantially triangular sectional shape, whose three side faces are formed by a first support part (12), a second support part (14) and a third support part (16). Projections (30) each having a shear plane (32) are formed in an inner position of the one side edge of the first support part (12). The other side edge (16a)) of the third support part (16) is arranged to be in contact with a main surface of the first support part (12) and the shear plane (32) of each of the projections (30). Shearing force acting between the other side edge (16a)) of the third support part (16) and first support part (12) is received by the projections (30).

  • Publication number: 20040155568
Abstract: A color selection mask is provided with an aperture region including a slit region (21) and bridge regions (22). The bridge regions (22) are provided on top and bottom ends of the aperture region. In the slit region (21), slits (123) through which electron beams pass and strips (124) are arranged alternately. The strips (124) extend into the bridge regions (22), where bridges (25) for connecting adjacent two of the strips (124) and through holes (122) through which electron beams pass are provided.

  • Publication number: 20040090164
Abstract: A tensioned mask structure for a color CRT includes a color-selecting mask that is formed with a plurality of electron beam passing holes therein, a mask frame on which the color-selecting mask is mounted, and a vibration-attenuating mechanism in contact with the color-selecting mask to damp vibration of the color-selecting mask. The color-selecting mask includes an effective mask area having a slit region and a slot region. The slit region has a plurality of long narrow elements that extend in a vertical direction of a screen of the CRT and are aligned to define slit-like holes between adjacent long narrow elements. The slot region has a plurality of slot-like holes shorter than the slit-like holes, the slot-like holes extending in the vertical direction. The slit region is formed in an area except a left peripheral portion and a right peripheral portion of the effective mask area.
