Abstract: A novel cleaning patch system comprising a novel patch grip for cleaning firearm barrels is disclosed. A patch grip includes an arbor and a plug. The arbor includes a base, a stem extending from the base, and an elongate crest connected to the stem. The plug includes an elongate passage therethrough that generally matches the dimensions of the elongate crest. The plug further comprises relatively recessed and/or protruding structures on the face of the plug adjacent the elongate passage that engage the crest of the arbor and prevent inadvertent rotation of the plug on the arbor during firearm cleaning.

Abstract: A firearm bolt cleaning tool includes a tool core defining a plurality of scraper surfaces. The scraper surfaces include a first gas ring scraper surface, a first bolt face scraper surface extending from a terminus of the first gas ring scraper surface, and a first bolt cylinder scraper surface extending from a terminus of the first bolt face scraper surface. Opposing positioned are a second gas ring scraper surface, a second bolt face scraper surface extending from a terminus of the second gas ring scraper surface, and a second bolt cylinder scraper surface extending from a terminus of the second bolt face scraper surface. The first gas ring scraper surface and the second gas ring scraper surface are spaced apart from each other at a distance that is less than a diameter of a cylindrical gas sealing ring holding section of the firearm bolt.

Abstract: A multipurpose tool for maintaining a rifle, comprising a planar body including a wider portion and a narrower portion of a first edge and a curved transition portion therebetween, wherein the narrower portion terminates in a hook-shaped element having a flat portion whose dimension is less that the outer diameter of a bolt piston of the rifle; an arm pivotably attached to the planar body and terminating in first and second prongs defining a notch sized to fit over a front sight adjusting screw of an AR or AK type rifle; and a pin pivotably joining the planar body and the arm. The body may further comprise a notch formed in a second edge opposite the first edge for assisting in disengaging a gas tube release lever of the rifle. The body may further comprise a scraper sized to fit within the gas block of the rifle.

Abstract: A cleaning tool for maintaining a firearm includes a flexible brush adapter having a first end and an opposing second end. The flexible brush adapter includes a rotation-resistant cable characterized by two or more layers of strands having differing directions of lay. The cleaning tool further includes a brush attachment coupled to the flexible brush adapter at the second end thereof. The brush attachment includes a plurality of bristles. In one example, the brush attachment comprises a longitudinal twisted wire spine. The spine captures the plurality of bristles extending radially therefrom. The bristles include copper alloy bristles intermixed with stainless steel bristles.

Abstract: An apparatus comprising a tool body having parallel columns extending from a common base. The base includes a lip extending outward from the columns defining an anvil for receiving a delta ring. A cutter has a body slidably disposed between the columns. A blade extends outward from the cutter body in opposition to the anvil and is aligned by transverse guide pins extending through guide slots in the columns. In operation, a section of the delta ring is positioned between the blade and the anvil. The blade is driven toward the anvil by any of various mechanical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic mechanisms connected to the stanchion and blade, the simplest of which is a bolt extending through the cutter body and received in a threaded bore in the base. Preferably, the anvil includes a slot for receiving the blade at the extreme of its travel as the ring is severed.

Abstract: A firearm barrel cleaning brush includes a body, a first swab portion affixed to the body, a bristle brush portion affixed to the body, and a second swab portion affixed to the body. The bristle brush portion is proximate to the first swab portion, and is positioned closer to an end of the body than the first swab portion. The second swab portion is proximate to the bristle brush portion, and is positioned closer to the end of the body than the bristle brush portion. In one embodiment, the cleaning brush is secured to a flexible cleaning rod having a pull-through handle having a base, a swivel, and a handle portion attached to the base by the swivel. The handle portion has a closed position adapted for passage through the firearm barrel, and an open position adapted for pulling the cleaning rod and barrel cleaning brush through the firearm barrel.

Abstract: A novel firearm pull-through cleaning tool with an integrated foldable handle. The handle is pivotable at a first tool end between a closed position wherein a portion of the handle occupies a longitudinal well in the tool body and an open position wherein the handle is substantially transverse to the longitudinal axis of body. When in closed position the diameter of the tool is less than the bore diameter of a weapon to be cleaned. In use, the handle is pivoted in a first direction to place the tool in the closed position; the tool is inserted into the firearm bore; a cleaning tool is attached to the attachment portion; the tool is passed through the bore; the handle is pivoted in a second direction to place said tool in the open position; and the handle is pulled to cause the cleaning tool to be passed through the bore.

The second swab portion is proximate to the bristle brush portion, and is positioned closer to the end of the body than the bristle brush portion. In one embodiment, the cleaning brush is secured to a flexible cleaning rod having a pull-through handle having a base, a swivel, and a handle portion attached to the base by the swivel. The handle portion has a closed position adapted for passage through the firearm barrel, and an open position adapted for pulling the cleaning rod and barrel cleaning brush through the firearm barrel.
