Patent number: 5558561Abstract: To sand the surface of an item (3) uniformly smooth, a sanding machine is used with sanding tools in the form of sanding rollers (29) which are rotated as well as turned in the same plane, and which at the same time are also moved in a different direction from the direction in which the item is conveyed, whereby during the working stroke the sanding elements on the sanding rollers (29) will sand at all possible contact angles in relation to the item (3).To move the sanding rollers (29), the apparatus comprises a motor-driven crank arm (7), in sliding engagement with a carriage supports the sanding rollers (29), and drives the carriage on rails (33) which extend in a circle about the machine (1). This achieves a stable and robust construction which also gives the sanding rollers (29) an expedient movement characteristic, which compensates for the predominantly longitudinal sanding movements to which the items are exposed in the outer areas.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1995Date of Patent: September 24, 1996Assignee: HH Patent A/SInventor: Keld O. Patent number: 5291689Abstract: In order to be able to sand the surface of an item (3) uniformly smooth, a sanding machine is used with sanding tools in the form of sanding rollers (29) which are rotated as well as turned in the same plane, and which at the same time herewith are also moved in a reciprocating manner transversely to and parallel with the direction in which the item is conveyed, whereby during the working stroke the sanding elements on the sanding rollers (29) will sand at all possible contact angles in relation to the item (3). The risk of sanding damage such as marks and grooves as a result of over-sanding, or the possible lack of sanding as a result of too sporadic contact, is herewith reduced, and the best possible result is achieved.Furthermore, the wear on the sanding rollers (29) is completely uniform, whereby their endurance is extended.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 1992Date of Patent: March 8, 1994Assignee: HH Patent A/SInventor: Keld O. Patent number: 5156257Abstract: A woodworking machine of the traversing type for carrying items (23) on a vacuum conveyor belt (3) is provided with a number of compressed air nozzles (10) which direct a stream of air towards the items (23) on the belt, the nozzles (10), being connected to the pressure side (9) of air pumps (6), and the suction of the conveyor (3) is connected to the pump's inlet sides (8). A reduction in the friction of the belt (13) as well as the wear on its supporting plate (18), is obtained by the formation of eddy currents in grooves (20), formed in the belt supporting plate (18) through which the air is sucked.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1991Date of Patent: October 20, 1992Assignee: HH Patent A/SInventor: Keld O. Patent number: 5131292Abstract: In order to achieve a compact spindle drive which is also lightweight and consisting of few components, and where the drive motor (8) is mounted in a stationary manner in relation to the spindle drive, the spindle drive according to the invention is configured with two sets of bevel gears comprising a first larger pair of gears (11, 13) and a second smaller pair of gears (12, 14).The spindles (15, 17) can hereby be mounted in star formation in the housing and alternately enter into engagement with the first gear (11) and the second gear (12), and thus alternatively rotate the one way and the other way.At the same time, all of the spindles (15, 17) are suspended in the same plane, whereby a very uniform machining operation is achieved. Finally, the housing can be provided with a turning motor (21), which via a pinion (2, 19) can revolve the housing (1) at the same time that the spindles rotate.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1991Date of Patent: July 21, 1992Assignee: HH Patent A/SInventor: Keld O. Patent number: 4967513Abstract: When sanding for instance panelled doors in a belt sanding machine it must be prevented that transversely extending parts (16) are sanded since it would be harmful to sand across the direction of the grain of the wood. A machine according to the invention is therefore provided with a combined sensing and control device which in a simple and effective manner will prevent damage caused by the sanding process by controlling the contact of the sanding belt with the workpiece. The device consists of a disc (14, 20) which is mounted on the sanding equipment. The disc (14, 20) protrudes a distance beyond the sanding position of the sanding belt (15), in order that the disc will sense the workpiece when the workpiece is moved under the sanding belt. When the disc (14, 20) rolls across a frame piece (16) the sanding belt (15) is pivoted up above the wood, and when the disc (14, 20) meets a recessed part (18), the sanding belt (15) is pivoted to a non-sanding position.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1989Date of Patent: November 6, 1990Assignee: HH Patent ApSInventor: Keld O. Patent number: 4646473Abstract: Workpieces having three-dimensional surfaces can be efficiently sanded by rotatable sanding members mounted on spindles which are supported for movement in a circle of revolution over the surfaces of the workpieces as the individual spindles are selectively rotated about their longitudinal axes in either of two opposite directions during predetermined portions of each circle of revolution. A sanding apparatus for accomplishing this function includes a cone clutch arrangement for selectively reversing the direction of rotation in accordance with a cam directed control arrangement acting on pivotally supported yokes carrying the individual spindles.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1985Date of Patent: March 3, 1987Assignees: Udviklingscentret Hansen, Hundebol A/SInventor: Keld O. Patent number: 4637173Abstract: A rotating grinding or polishing device includes a number of grinding or polishing discs formed of two or more layers of segments radiating from a central retaining area having an edge which defines a central hole. In the central area, the segments are kept together by a heat-activatable string which also maintains the grinding or polishing disc in the form of a ring, whereby the disc has the required optimum stiffness/flexibility for obtaining an effective grinding or polishing finish so that even complex surfaces can be effectively ground or polished.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 1985Date of Patent: January 20, 1987Assignee: Udviklingscentret Hansen & Hundebol A/SInventor: Keld O. Patent number: 4580369Abstract: To be able to control the admission of compressed air or liquid to a machine in a hand tool, the working medium can be admitted to the machine through a handle with a built-in valve. By turning the handle (1) the valve opens or closes. The valve body itself (7,9) is secured to a stay in the form of a bolt (10) and a pipe (8) screwed into the bottom of the handle casing (1), whereas the valve seat (14) is formed as a recess in a bushing (2) being stationary relative to the casing. The handle has an oblique track (4) wherein a bolt (3) secured in the bushing moves the casing (1) and thereby the valve body relative to the bushing (2) when the handle is turned. When the handle is released in the open position of the valve (FIG. 3), the pressure exerted by the medium will move the casing so as to close the valve since the area of the casing is larger than that of the bush (2). The machine can thereby be safely and reliably disconnected by releasing the hold on the handle.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 1983Date of Patent: April 8, 1986Inventor: Keld O. Hundebol

Patent number: 4518452Abstract: A grinding- or polishing implement can be produced by providing a rectangular sheet (1) at both sides with segments (2) formed by slits from the outside towards the center. Hereafter the sheet is folded around the center across a glue string (5), and then the two folding edges are folded together and glued together for the formation of a closed ring. This ring can thereafter be placed on a spindle (6) preferably between retaining discs (8).In this way raw material can be saved in the production of rings, just as the rings can be used more economically in an implement as the grinding qualities are improved through the big number of segments, their completely uniform size and placing along the periphery of the implement and their ability to adjust and shape themselves according to the prepared members.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1982Date of Patent: May 21, 1985Inventor: Keld O.
