The first clamp assembly includes a first part gripper configured to pick a first part. The second clamp assembly includes a second part gripper configured to pick a second part. The second part gripper is movable relative to the frame in an actuation direction between a retracted position and an extended position. The second part gripper is located a second distance from the distal end of the robot arm in the retracted position. The second part gripper is located a third distance from the distal end of the robot arm in the extended position greater than the second distance.

The feeder mechanism includes a walking beam movable by the carriage between the loading zone and the punching zone. The walking beam includes fingers configured to engage the connector housings to advance the connector housings. The connector processing machine includes a punch assembly having a cutter assembly coupled to the walking beam and movable with the walking beam with cutters configured to cut housing runners between the connector housings to separate the connector housings from each other.

    Abstract: A part manipulator includes a robot arm movable between a pick station and a place station. The part manipulator includes an end effector coupled to a distal end of the robot arm. The end effector includes a part support fixture and a pin gripper adjacent the part support fixture. The pin gripper includes a pin member and a pin actuator operated to move the pin member between a retracted position and an extended position. A distal end of the pin member extends from the part support fixture in the extended position to engage and hold a part against the part support fixture in the extended position. The pin member is configured to pick up the part in the extended position at the pick station. The pin actuator is configured to release the part at the place station when the pin member is moved to the retracted position.

The part manipulator includes an end effector coupled to a distal end of the robot arm. The end effector includes a rotation platform rotatable between a first position and a second position. The end effector includes a part gripper coupled to the rotation platform movable between a releasing position and a holding position. The part gripper is configured to hold a part in the holding position. The part gripper is rotated by the rotation platform as the rotation platform is rotated from the first position to the second position to move the part from a picking orientation to a placing orientation. The end effector picks up the part in the picking orientation at the pick station. The end effector releases the part in the placing orientation at the place station.
