  • Publication number: 20080046756
Abstract: A system, method, and processor executable instructions are disclosed for offloading encryption and/or decryption processing to a system having a parallel processing structure that may include a graphics processing unit. Lookup tables support executing encryption/decryption transformations solely on the graphics processing unit. In one version, the look-up tables support Rijndael encryption/decryption transformations. Also, a system, method, and processor executable instructions are disclosed for visualizing decrypted ciphertext.

  • Publication number: 20070217690
Abstract: An image processing system provides faster than real-time skin detection and localization. The system uses the highly optimized architecture of a graphics processing unit to quickly and efficiently detect and locate skin in an image. By performing skin detection and localization on the graphics processing unit, the image processing system frees the main system processor to perform other important tasks, including running general purpose applications. The speed with which the image processing system detects and localizes skin also facilitates subsequent processing steps such as face detection and motion tracking.

  • Publication number: 20070179646
Abstract: Complex collaboration or decision support applications perform complex design or planning tasks, often with the input of large groups of people over long periods of time. The combination of time and complexity can often obscure past actions, making it difficult to remember the factors that influenced earlier stages in the planning task. This is especially true if the task involves many people and different people work at different times. The application state navigation system provides an application-independent mechanism that allows operators to walk back through the history of the application in order to better understand (or remember) the application actions that were taken in the past and the triggers for those actions.

  • Publication number: 20070116333
Abstract: A system and method for determining positions of multiple targets on a planar surface is described. The targets subject to detection may include a touch from a body part (such as a finger), a pen, or other objects. The system and method may use light sensors, such as cameras, to generate information for the multiple simultaneous targets (such as finger, pens, etc.) that are proximate to or on the planar surface. The information from the cameras may be used to generate possible targets. The possible targets include both “real” targets (a target associated with an actual touch) and “ghost” targets (a target not associated with an actual touch). Using analysis, such as a history of previous targets, the list of potential targets may then be narrowed to the multiple targets by analyzing state information for targets from a previous cycle (such as the targets determined during a previous frame).

  • Publication number: 20060244677
Abstract: This invention includes a method and system for viewing data comprising detecting visual markers within view of a wearable camera worn by a human worker, and displaying data associated with at least one of those visual markers on a see-through wearable display worn by the operator. Another aspect of the invention provides a method and system for coordinating movement of human workers comprising detecting one or more visual markers within view of a camera worn by the worker, and determining the location of the worker from the stored location of the visual marker within view of the camera.

  • Publication number: 20060101054
Abstract: A system for distributed information processing and interaction includes a plurality of output devices arranged to produce a respective output portion of a system output, a plurality of application processors and a state server in data communication with the plurality of application processors. Each respective output portion is defined by context information. Each application processor is configured to process one or more respective application programs and is responsive to the context information. Each application processor is coupled with an associated respective output device for controlling the output device in producing the respective output portion. The state server provides the context information to the plurality of application processors. The architecture is extended to a more general system in which output devices produce a variety of outputs including device actuations, as well as video displays, and receive a variety of inputs.

  • Publication number: 20060092267
Abstract: This invention is a method for manipulating virtual objects displayed on a video conference broadcast by generating a computerized three dimensional image of an object to be superimposed on a first video broadcast signal from a local video camera for display on a remote video monitor, and superimposing the same object on a second video broadcast signal from a remote video camera for display on a local video monitor, grabbing a portion of the three dimensional image by placing a hand in close proximity to the portion of the image moving the hand while maintaining the hand in close proximity to the image and regenerating the three dimensional image to a new perspective view corresponding to the movement of the image with the hand to create the appearance that the hand is manipulating a virtual object displayed over the video broadcast signal.

  • Patent number: 6727927
Abstract: A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for providing a user interface for a data management application that extracts data from several data sources across an enterprise. First, a user is allowed to input a search query. Data items found during a search based on the query are received and displayed in nodes arranged in a tree format. A portion of the data items are hyper linked to detailed views of the data items. A detailed view of one of the hyper linked data items is displayed upon selection of the one of the hyper linked data items by the user. The selected hyper linked data items are added to a history list.
