    Abstract: A proximity alert system includes a control system. A sensor system operatively associated with the control system detects a presence of an object within a defined sensing region adjacent the vehicle. An annunciator system operatively associated with the control system provides an indication that the object has been detected within the defined sensing region. The control system actuates the sensor system when the vehicle is stationary and operates the annunciator system when the sensor system detects the presence of the object within the defined sensing region.
