  • Publication number: 20240121325
Abstract: The warehouse control system (WCS) coordinates communication between communicating devices and systems. The WCS stores mappings of different message types that are transmitted between different components of a warehouse. The WCS accepts inbound messages from the components, parses the inbound messages, and handles the data accordingly. The WCS also transmits outbound messages to components of the warehouse. The WCS forms the outbound message according to protocols defined in the WCS. The WCS maps positions of each message to predefined data fields to define the message type. The mapping of the fields to positions of each message type defines the fields of the message for future message handling.

  • Publication number: 20070165019
Abstract: A method for designing a human interface of a system includes establishing guidelines for avoiding sensory overload conditions of a human interacting with the system. The method also includes identifying an event associated with the system producing a potential sensory overload condition. The method further includes generating a human interface design solution based on the guidelines for modifying an operation of the system to help alleviate the potential sensory overload condition associated with the event. A prediction of a performance capability of a human subject interacting with the system may be made by determining a first parameter indicative of an intelligence of a human subject, determining a second parameter indicative of a multiple sensory input memory capacity of the human subject, and determining a third parameter indicative of an interactive monitoring capacity of the human subject and then using the parameters to generate an overall parameter indicative of a performance capacity.

  • Publication number: 20070038443
Abstract: A communication device receives an encoded signal from a primary input source. The encoded signal includes periods of speech and periods of non-speech. The communication device includes a decoder to decode the received signal to produce a decoded signal. A detector of the communication device detects the periods of speech and the periods of non-speech within the decoded signal. A controller of the communication device provides the decoded signal to an output of the communication device during the periods of speech. The controller interrupts the decoded signal during the periods of non-speech and provides an alternate input from a secondary input source to the communication device.

  • Publication number: 20050233718
Abstract: A cell phone is provided that may be used with multiple radio formats, such as GSM and CDMA. The cell phone includes a receiver that receives radio signals and converts them into electrical signals. An analog to digital converter is connected to the receiver and converts an analog input to a digital output having an adjustable number of bits at an adjustable sampling frequency. A cell phone application specific integrated circuit is connected to the analog to digital converter, which is used to process the digital output to extract encoded telecommunications data in one of the supported radio formats.
