  • Publication number: 20240000456
Abstract: A closure device for repairing a vein valve insufficiency includes a tube formed of extracellular matrix including elastin fibers and one or more anchoring elements. The tube is radially expandable from a retracted configuration to an expanded configuration and the tube is naturally biased to the retracted configuration. The one or more anchoring elements anchor the tube to a vessel wall of a vessel upon expansion of the tube to the expanded configuration wherein the tube circumferentially contacts the vessel wall of the vessel and is anchored thereto by the one or more anchoring elements. Retraction of the tube to the retracted configuration draws the vessel wall of the vessel radially inward to repair the vein valve insufficiency.

  • Patent number: 7797044
Abstract: The invention presents techniques for making the operation of an automated external defibrillator easier to understand for an operator. The automated external defibrillator includes defibrillation electrodes packaged in a sealed, easy-to-open pouch. Visual cues such as instructive pictures show the operator how to open the pouch, retrieve the defibrillation electrodes and correctly position the electrodes on a patient's chest.
