Abstract: A storage container for paint roller sleeve includes a lid of a container in which the lid of the container has a hole in its center and a slit that extends radially to the circumferential edge of the lid to permit the roller frame to be remain attached to the roller sleeve while the roller sleeve is housed within the container via this slit. A strap holds at one end a plug for insertion into the hole in the center of the lid and at the other end of the strap a hinge fastens the strap to the lid.

Each set of flutes includes three interior flutes that located between said two exterior flutes. The interior flutes include a middle flute that is set back a distance from the other two interior flutes so that when the exterior surface of the container is pressed inward said middle interior flute cuts into a paint roller sleeve housed within the container and the other two interior flutes bend outward around a nap of said roller sleeve to better hold said roller sleeve in place when a roller frame is being extracted from said roller sleeve.

Abstract: A storage container for a paint roller sleeve which includes a flexible, resilient tubular housing and a cap which can be snap-fitted thereon for removably storing the sleeve therein. Sealed on one end, the housing defines a reservoir for holding excess paint. Distal from the sealed end, the housing terminates in a built-in funnel for ease of insertion of the sleeve. The sides of the tubular housing include at least one section that is easily collapsible inwardly and can be pressed against the stored sleeve when the user grasps the housing. This collapsible section in the sidewalls of the housing has teeth-like projections, which allow the user to engage and hold the sleeve in such a way that it can be pulled free from the roller without hand contact. When a painter is taking a break or through for the day, he can place the sleeve in the housing and close the cap. He can then come back and finish the work the following hour, day or year without any need to clean the sleeve.

The leading edge of the promontory-like protrusion is both sharpened and generally convex in shape, so that it can serve as an efficient brush wipe. As the bristles of a brush are pressed against this leading edge, they spread open, fan-like, releasing excess paint. Affixed to the lip near the mid-section of the promontory-like protrusion and projecting generally upwardly of the sidewall is a pair of bowed plastic arms which exhibit leaf spring action or similar releasable fasteners.
