  • Patent number: 11971064
Abstract: A plunger lift lubricator having an internal bypass configuration which enables a plunger to be reliably captured and while still allowing the flow of fluid up through the lubricator before the fluid is directed radially outward and down the internal bypass passageways. The lubricator can comprise both an upper flow path and a lower flow path and can be configured such that a plunger can travel all the way up to shift a valve in the plunger if needed.

  • Patent number: 9987742
Abstract: A system and method for positioning hanging objects includes a transfer sheet capable of being marked (e.g. paper) is releasably attached to a positioning member having a ledge that can be aligned with a top surface of an object being hung (e.g. picture); the transfer sheet is then marked (creating a transfer mark) at the location of the object's mounting portion (e.g. hook); the ledge is then positioned as desired (e.g. against a wall), and aligned using a built in level; a mark is made on the wall using the transfer mark (e.g. using a pencil through the transfer mark); a fastener (e.g. nail) is then fixed to the wall at the location of the mark; the object is then hung. Thus, the tedious and often erroneous process of calculating where the hole should be using measuring devices is eliminated.

  • Publication number: 20070246211
Abstract: A plunger of improved construction for reciprocating in a production string of a gas or oil well to remove fluid from the well. The plunger includes a sleeve having a through passage extending longitudinally from a first end to a second end, the second end forming a seat, a sealing means carried by the sleeve for engaging the inner surface of the production string, a detachable valve member releasably received by the seat to seal the through passage, and a catch positioned to releasably couple the detachable valve member to the sleeve within the seat. The catch retaining the detachable valve member until the detachable valve member is impacted at the surface of the well by a trip rod. The improved construction provides for the use of a heavier or more dense detachable valve member and a lighter or less dense sleeve than previously used in prior plungers, which results in a plunger having an increased efficiency and a greater cycle frequency.

  • Publication number: 20070221383
Abstract: A method and apparatus for increasing the production of a hydrocarbon well by removal of accumulated formation fluid from the bottom of the well. The apparatus includes a body positionable down hole and a sealing assembly, with a converging-diverging nozzle installed axially within a through bore extending through the body at a position below the sealing assembly. A fluid lift passage extends from the accumulated formation fluid through the body and into the throat of the nozzle. The entrance into the throat of the nozzle includes inwardly tapered shoulder portion position below the opening of the fluid lift passage into the throat. The apparatus creates a low-pressure zone within and lifts the accumulated formation fluid into the throat where it is atomized by a high velocity flowing production gas. The atomized fluid is carried to the surface of the well by the production gas where it is then separated from the gas. The method includes the installation of an apparatus within the well.

  • Publication number: 20060231247
Abstract: A production plunger that automatically reciprocates in a production string of a well to remove formation fluid from the well. The production plunger makes a sealing contact with the production string and includes a passage through which all formation fluid is caused to flow through. The passage includes a valve that operates automatically in response to pressure within the production string to open and close the passage to allow and stop formation fluid from flowing in the passage. The plunger includes a locking device to ensure the plunger does not short cycle and a fail safe mechanism ensuring the valve closes in case of plunger failure, or upon a minimal build up of pressure by shutting in the well. Further, the entire valve is enclosed in the plunger preventing damage to valve elements from impacting downhole equipment, and the plunger includes fluid ports positioned so as not to easily capture well solids.
