    Abstract: A battery connector according to the present invention comprises an insulative housing and a plurality of terminals received in the insulative housing. The insulative housing includes a plurality of partitions in a middle portion of the housing. The partitions define a plurality of cavity sections therebetween for receiving mating contacts of a mating connector. A groove and a recess are respectively defined in an upper portion of each partition and in a rear top wall between adjacent partition. Each terminal includes a retaining body, a soldering leg downwardly extending at a rearward side of the retaining body, a contacting arm for electrically connecting with a complementary connector angularly extending from a lower front edge of the retaining body into a corresponding cavity section and a fixing tail rearwardly extending from a rear edge of the retaining body of the terminal for being held in a recess of the insulative housing.

    Abstract: A connector assembly includes a pair of connectable first and second connectors for respectively connecting with a disk drive and a PCB in a portable computer casing thereby vertically mounting the disk drive on the PCB and interconnecting the disk drive with the PCB. The first connector defines an upper row and a lower row of first passageways with first terminals retained therein. Each first terminal includes a pair of inwardly inclined first contact arms for mating with a corresponding pin of the disk drive, and a right-angle bent first tail portion retained in recesses of an intermediate plate and downwardly extending therefrom for connecting with the second connector. The second connector defines two rows of second passageways with second terminals retained therein.

The housing defines a bottom mounting face and at least two apertures in the bottom mounting face for retaining the boardlocks therein. By choosing boardlocks of different overall height, the bottom mounting face of the housing can be spaced above a circuit board a desired height.

    Abstract: A battery receptacle connector comprises a dielectric housing forming a number of parallel terminal receiving grooves with a terminal received in each groove. Adjacent grooves are spaced by a partition. The housing further defines first and second engaging slots in communication with each groove for securing the corresponding terminal therein. Each terminal comprises a base, a tail portion downwardly extending from the base, positioning means consisting of a first positioning member and a second positioning member, a pair of cantilevered arms upwardly extending from the base, and a mating portion consisting of a first mating member and a second mating member. The first positioning member upwardly extends from the base opposite the tail portion, and the second positioning member forwardly extends from the base.

    Abstract: An electrical connector comprises a housing and a number of contacts received in the housing. The housing has a base portion forming a mounting surface, a closed rear face and a front face. A number of cavities is defined in the mounting surface and is exposed to the closed rear face. A partition, extending along a front-rear direction of the base portion, is formed in each cavity. The partition divides the cavity into first and second chambers. Each contact includes a blade portion, a fixing post and a contact tail substantially parallelly extending from the blade portion. The fixing post forms a pair of barbs extending toward the contact tail. The contact tail forms a terminating portion perpendicularly extending from a free end thereof for contacting to a printed circuit board. The fixing post and the contact tail are respectively received in the first chamber and the second chamber.

    Abstract: A battery connector comprises a dielectric housing defining a number of passageways, and a number of terminals received in the corresponding passageways. Each terminal comprises a blade-like mating portion having a lateral edge portion for electrically contacting a corresponding battery coil and a connecting leg outwardly extending from a free end of the lateral edge portion of the mating portion for connecting with a circuit board. The mating portion of each terminal defines a cutout in a corner recessed in the other free end of the lateral edge portion and opposite the connecting leg for extension of a connecting leg of an adjacent terminal when the terminals are connected to a terminal carrier strip.
