  • Publication number: 20180126021
Abstract: A sterilization system includes a sterilization device and a control device. The sterilization device includes at least one emitter configured to emit ultraviolet energy, and at least one localization system configured to determine positional and spatial relation between the sterilization device and a target area. The control device includes a storable medium and a processor in communication with the emitter and the localization system. The control device is configured to scan the target area, via the localization system, execute a sterilization process based on a sterilization profile, via the at least one emitter, extrapolate data received from the localization system in an iterative process, via the processor, and generate a sterilization map of the target area indicative of areas within the target area determined to be sterilized based on the extrapolated data.

  • Publication number: 20170323578
Abstract: Surgical systems and methods facilitate simulation of a prior use of a surgical instrument. Such surgical systems include a surgical instrument having a memory storing prior usage data of the surgical instrument in a usage data file(s), a processor configured to generate a simulation of the prior use based upon the usage data file(s), and a display configured to visually display the simulation of the prior use. Such methods include obtaining usage data from the prior use, storing the usage data in a usage data file(s), transmitting the usage data file(s), generating a simulation of the prior use based upon the usage data file(s), and displaying the simulation of the prior use.

  • Publication number: 20170296176
Abstract: An adapter assembly includes a switch actuator, an actuation bar, and a latch. The switch actuator is movable between a proximal position, in which the switch actuator actuates a switch, and a distal position. The latch is movable between a first position, in which the latch permits proximal movement of the switch actuator, and a second position, in which the latch prevents proximal movement of the switch actuator. The latch is configured to move from the first position toward the second position in response to the actuation bar moving toward a proximal position.

  • Publication number: 20160310134
Abstract: A handheld electromechanical surgical device includes a non-sterile power-pack having a drive component(s) including a rotatable drive shaft extending therefrom, a main processor configured to control each drive component, a battery configured to power each drive component, an electrical receptacle, and a control interface(s) configured to control a functionality of the drive component. A sterile outer shell housing is configured to removably encase the power-pack to define a sterile barrier thus enabling use in a surgical environment without breaking sterility. The outer shell housing includes a coupler configured to transmit a rotation from the rotatable drive shaft through the outer shell housing, a control button(s) operatively positioned such that actuation of the control button actuates the control interface, and a pass-through connector configured to transmit electrical communications from the electrical receptacle through the outer shell housing.
