  • Publication number: 20240144232
Abstract: A method and apparatus validating integrity of an environment of a terminal device remote to a commerce platform system are described. The method can include receiving, from the terminal device, a device provisioning request that comprises data indicative of an instance of an application installed on the terminal device, a first public key, a second public key, and a hardware attestation key, the first public key, the second public key, and the hardware attestation key generated within a trusted execution environment of the terminal device, and the first public key and the second public key having a corresponding first private key and second private key stored within the trusted execution environment.

  • Patent number: 11319935
Abstract: A method of replacing a plurality of yaw pads is provided. Yaw pads are arranged between a tower and a nacelle of a wind turbine. The yaw pads are replaced with new yaw pads. The method includes determining the center of gravity of the nacelle. Based on the center of gravity, a set of the plurality of yaw pads to be each substituted by a shim are selected. Each of the substituted shims including a thickness greater than the respective replaced yaw pad. The remaining yaw pads are replaced while the nacelle is supported by the shims.

  • Publication number: 20210259238
Abstract: While hunting or birdwatching, a user is able to deploy a male decoy remotely from a blind after the sole use of the female decoy has failed to attract the target animal. The device for luring the target animal towards a location includes a substantially planar fan which is kept in a concealed position until a mechanism releases a biasing element configured to prevent the decoy from inadvertently moving out of the concealed position, thereby allowing the decoy to move into the deployed position.

  • Patent number: 9459158
Abstract: The invention includes a thermometer with a backlight and a method for lighting the backlight. The thermometer has temperature sensing tip, a processor taking temperature readings and determining a sensed temperature reading of the living being from the temperature sensing tip. The thermometer also includes a display and a backlight for lighting the display. The backlight is activated upon a command from the processor and the processor determines whether to activate the backlight based upon the temperature readings. The method embodiment can includes the steps of using the processor to monitor a temperature change indicated by a temperature sensing element. The processor then detects a temperature decrease and activates a first color light emitting element to backlight a display if the temperature decrease exceeds or equals a predetermined threshold. The thermometer is operable in one of a plurality of selectable operating modes, and the predetermined threshold is dependent upon the selected operating mode.

  • Publication number: 20080083730
Abstract: The invention pertains to a multi-functional cooker having a thermal probe operatively connected to a controller for controlling a heating element in response to a real-time temperature reading from the probe. By controlling the level of heat provided by the heating element in response to real-time temperature readings, optimal comestible flavor may be achieved. The multi-functional cooker also includes a hinged lid for directing fluid on an inner surface of the lid into a cooking vessel of the invention upon opening of the lid.

  • Patent number: 4674349
Abstract: A mechanism (10) engageable with a threaded shaft (12) which includes a pair of nut halves (16,18) movable into and out of engagement with the shaft (12). The nut halves (16,18) are received within spaced frame plates (32,34) with one nut half (16) attached to the plates (32,34) and the other nut half (18) slidable between the plates (32,34). An elliptical cam member (44) received between the slidable nut half (18) and an end plate (36) connecting the frame plates (32,34) is operable to move the nut halves (16,18) between their engaged and disengaged positions.
