Abstract: Example methods and apparatus to model consumer awareness for changing products in a consumer purchase model are disclosed. A disclosed example method includes receiving utility values associated with at least one of a product or a product attribute, and identifying an agent awareness state associated with the restage product and the original product. The example method also includes calculating a choice probability for the restage product based on the estimated utility values associated with the identified awareness state, and outputting the choice probability for use in a simulation of consumer purchase.

The communication has been sent to a manufacturer of the vehicle. The manufacturer determines that the diagnostic message represents a signal indicative of an output of an accelerometer received by an electronic control module. The manufacturer determines that the diagnostic message represents an emergency and contacts an emergency crew.

Abstract: Methods are disclosed for returning a rental vehicle to a rental agency facility. One method detects a location of the rental vehicle and commands the rental vehicle to wirelessly communicate diagnostic information. The diagnostic information includes at least one of mileage of the rental vehicle, fuel contained in the rental vehicle, and a number identifying the rental vehicle. Another method wirelessly receives the diagnostic information from the rental vehicle and forwards the diagnostic information to the rental agency. The diagnostic information may be wirelessly received by a manufacturer of the rental vehicle and forwarded from the manufacturer of the rental vehicle to the rental agency. Still another method receives the diagnostic information from the manufacturer and generates a record of a rental transaction using the diagnostic information. The manufacturer of the rental vehicle may be requested to obtain the diagnostic information.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for communicating a diagnostic message from a vehicle. One embodiment detects the diagnostic message and initiates a wireless communication in response to the diagnostic message. The wireless communication is initiated by electronic equipment installed in the vehicle. The wireless communication represents the diagnostic message. Another embodiment detects the diagnostic message and requests to initiate a wireless communication in response to the diagnostic message. If the request is approved, electronic equipment installed in the vehicle initiates the wireless communication.

Abstract: A vehicle is disclosed that wirelessly communicates diagnostic messages. The vehicle includes an electronic control module and wireless communications equipment. The electronic control module generates a diagnostic message, and the wireless communications equipment automatically wirelessly communicates the diagnostic message to a manufacturer of the vehicle. The diagnostic message may represent an emergency condition, such as an emergency condition determined from an output of an accelerometer. The wireless equipment may include a cellular communications device and/or a satellite communications device.
