    Abstract: Film material for occupant detection in a vehicle is patterned for noise reduction. Flexible circuit material is used for positioning one or more antennas or sensors for occupant detection within a seat. The flexible circuit material is between the fabric or seat covering material and foam. Holes in the flexible circuit material may reduce noise caused by the flexible circuit material. For occupant detection with antennas and transmitted energy, such as capacitance or electric field sensing, the holes may reduce noise even when the holes are smaller than the antennas.
