  • Patent number: 11920091
Abstract: The subject invention provides microbe-based products, as well as their use to improve oil production and refining efficiency by, for example, remediating the disposable layers in oil tanks and other oil storage units. In preferred embodiments, the microbe-based products comprise biochemical-producing yeast and growth by-products thereof, such as, e.g., biosurfactants. The subject invention can be used to remediate rag layer and/or other dissolved solid layers that form in water-oil emulsions. Furthermore, the subject invention can be used for remediating solid impurities, such as sand, scale, rust and clay, in produced water, flow-back, brine, and/or fracking fluids.

  • Patent number: 11517328
Abstract: A drive system for a handheld rotary medical device including a force absorption system incorporated in a drive coupling of the drive system is disclosed. The force absorption system may be included in the drive coupling whereby force absorption system absorbs linear forces aligned with a longitudinal axis of the drive coupling. As such, the force absorption system permits limited linear movement of a rotary surgical implement, which may be a shaver, burr or the like, relative to a drive shaft and handheld housing.

  • Patent number: 10800578
Abstract: A tube for dispensing product includes a closed first end, an open second end opposing the closed first end, and a side wall extending between the closed first end and the open second end. The side wall and the closed first end define an interior portion to hold product. The side wall of the tube includes internal threads extending inwardly from the side wall adjacent to the open second end. The various elements of the tube may include interlocking features to seal the tube from outside fluids.

  • Patent number: 10695073
Abstract: A rotary, cutting medical device configured to be used during surgeries, such as ACL reconstruction, to drill holes and retrograde sockets is disclosed. The device may include a blade at a distal end that is movable between a first position aligned with a longitudinal axis of the device and a second position nonparallel to the longitudinal axis used to create retrograde sockets. The device may include a blade position control system connecting the blade to distal ends of both the outer tube and inner shaft and configured to control movement of the blade between first and second positions for drilling a hole and then creating a retrograde socket. The device may include a position retention system configured to retain the blade in the second position while allowing the inner shaft and blade to rotate to cut the socket.

  • Publication number: 20040137520
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention there is provided a method, device, and kit for the diagnosis and assessment of andropause and/or reduced gonadal function. The method comprises conducting a biological assay on a male fluid sample and determining the presence of one or more clinical markers of andropause at a concentration indicative of andropause. The method of the present invention is simple, rapid and non-invasive. The method can be conducted privately by the patient at home with almost instantaneous results. Based on the results the patient can then seek professional medical help leading to earlier treatment and alleviation of andropausal symptoms and any associated medical conditions.

  • Publication number: 20020019688
Abstract: The present invention relates to a brake monitoring system for trucks, tractors, trailers or buses (class 6, 7 & 8 vehicles) using air brakes. In particular the present invention provides apparatus to monitor the braking system and the brake pad S-CAM positioning comprising a positioning transducer which can convert the rotational movement of the brake cam shaft S-CAM to an electrical signal. This signal is used as the input to a microprocessor system for further analysis and comparison in determining the condition of the S-CAM operations. The transducer signal not only provides the S-CAM position, but the speed of rotation both in braking and release of the brakes.
