  • Patent number: 7296677
Abstract: A package includes a stack of hinged trays for holding media discs, having a flexible hinge member affixed to the hinge edges of the trays, mounted in a protective container having a base, a spine and a cover. The bottom tray in the stack is mounted in the base for pivotal movement about the tray edge opposite the hinge edge, whereby, as trays are pivoted about the flexible hinge member from the stack onto a second stack, the hinge edge of the bottom tray pivots away from the base when the second stack contains at least one more tray than the original stack. Pivotal mounting is achieved by providing a slot on the bottom tray which engages slot receiving means mounted on the base.

  • Publication number: 20060283735
Abstract: Disclosed is a thin-walled closable storage package for media, which includes a base member and a cover member. The base member includes a thin-walled rear panel having structure for supporting media, such as for example, a compact disc or DVD, associated therewith. The cover member includes a thin-walled front panel and is hingedly connected to the base member. The cover member is movable between an open position wherein media can be engaged with or disengaged from the media supporting structure associated with the base member and a closed position wherein the base member and the cover member cooperate to enclose media engaged with the media supporting means. It is presently preferred that the storage package is unitary plastic structure which has been formed by injection molding.

  • Patent number: 7117992
Abstract: A storage package for multiple recording media includes a plurality of paper board panels arranged end to end and separated from each other by spline strips which allow the panels to be folded upon one another to resemble a closed book. First and second plastic, recording medium-holding latching trays are attached to the inside face of the last panel to be folded and to the panel face opposite the inside face in the folded configuration. Upstanding wall portions on one of the latching trays nest within the corresponding wall portions of the other latching tray when the latching trays are assembled together. Additional trays for holding recording media are attached to panel faces which are in the interior of the package in the closed configuration.
