  • Publication number: 20040211852
Abstract: A bail arm for a spinning reel is mounted to first and second rotor arms and includes first and second bail support members, a bail, a fixed shaft fixedly coupled to the first bail support member, a line roller supported by the fixed shaft, a fixed shaft cover having a mounting recess and disposed spaced apart from the first bail support member, and a mounting member. The bail includes an elongated portion and a bulging portion that is integrally formed with the elongated portion and has a mounting recess. A diameter of the bulging portion increases in a direction away from the elongated portion. The mounting member has one end portion fixedly coupled to the mounting recess of the fixed shaft cover such that the bail is fixedly arranged to the first bail support member, and another end portion fixedly coupled to the mounting recess of the bulging portion.

  • Publication number: 20040206839
Abstract: A bail arm of a spinning reel includes first and second bail support members, a bail, a fixed shaft, a line roller, and a fixed shaft cover. The front end of the fixed shaft on one end is fixedly coupled to the first bail support member. The fixed shaft cover is fixedly attached to another end of the fixed shaft so as to be spaced apart from the first bail support member. The line roller is rotatively supported by the fixed shaft. The bail is curved outward in the circumferential direction of the spool to guide the fishing line onto the line roller via the fixed shaft cover. The fixed shaft cover and the bail are integrally formed from a stainless steel alloy such that the exteriors thereof are smoothly and continuously connected. In this way, fishing line is not likely to tangle in the fishing line guide mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20040178290
Abstract: A sound producing mechanism for a spinning reel includes a first sound producing portion that is coupled to a spool shaft and has an attachment portion and a plurality of saw tooth portions that are formed in a saw tooth shape circumferentially apart on an outer peripheral surface of the attachment portion; and a second sound producing portion that is attached to the spool and includes a pawl member that repeatedly comes into contact with the saw tooth portions to produce sound. The first sound producing portion is mounted to the spool shaft so as to be unrotatable when the spool rotates in a line releasing direction and rotatable when the spool rotates in a line winding direction. The pawl member is urged toward the saw tooth portions by a spring member. The spinning reel sound producing mechanism produces sound only when the spool rotates in the line releasing direction.

  • Patent number: 6679445
Abstract: Spool for a spinning reel for line-winding, fitted onto the fore end portion of a spool shaft that pumps back and forth with respect to a reel unit, is furnished with a bobbin trunk, a front flange and flange-fastening member. The bobbin trunk is fitted onto the fore end portion of the spool shaft. The front flange includes a first flange portion, which is formed integrally into a brim encompassing the fore end of the bobbin trunk, and a ring-shaped second flange portion fitted removably and reattachably onto the outer periphery of the first flange portion and made of a hard material. The flange-fastening member fastens the second flange portion onto the first flange portion.

  • Patent number: 6572042
Abstract: A spinning-reel line-guiding apparatus that prevents fishing line snarl on a bail arm is provided. A spinning reel bail arm 7 has first and second bail-support members, a stationary shaft 10, a stationary-shaft cover 11, a line roller 12, and a bail 13. The stationary shaft cover 11 is provided on a projecting end of the stationary shaft 10 and spaced from the first bail-support member. An apex 11a of the stationary-shaft cover 11 is situated in a spinning-reel rear direction and outward in a diametrical direction of a spool. The bail 13 is plug-fastened into the second bail-support member and the apex 11a of the stationary shaft cover 11. The bail 13 is joined smoothly with a first ridgeline 11b on the fishing-line guiding side of the stationary shaft cover 11, and a second ridgeline 11c that opposes the first ridgeline 11b in flanking the apex 11a.

  • Patent number: 6464159
Abstract: Paint-coated fishing component formed with recesses in which build-up of paint in the recesses is unlikely. A reel body (1) made of a magnesium alloy painted by electrodeposition includes a first side cover (6a) and a second side cover mounted to the sides of a frame. The first side cover (6a) is fastened by attaching screws (30) from the inner side of a first side plate (7a) to a plurality of protrusion portions (20) formed protruding on a rear surface. The protrusion portions (20) are provided with conduits (25) communicating recess portions formed with female threads to the immediate exterior. The conduits (25) are slits that are formed in the protrusion direction of the protrusions (20) or perpendicular to the protrusion direction, and are cut with a T-slot cutter, for example.
