  • Patent number: 6397466
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an orifice plate with a plate material having a through hole arranged to become an orifice for discharging liquid comprises the steps of arranging a resin layer in a position corresponding to the through hole on the surface of a conductive substrate in a configuration corresponding to the through hole in a thickness corresponding at least to the lenght of the through hole, forming a metallic layer by means of electro-forming on the exposed surface of a portion of the conductive substrated corresponding to the plate material in a thickness corresponding to the thickness of the plate material in order to obtain the metallic layer in a state where the resin layer is filled in the through hole portion, applying water repellent resin to the surface of the metallic layer having the resin layer filled therein, peeling off the metallic layer from the conductive substrate together with the resin layer to obtain the plate material in a state where the through hole portion is filled with the r

  • Patent number: 6328420
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an orifice plate used for a liquid discharge provided with discharge port for discharging liquid comprises the steps of preparing a non-conductive plate having recessed portion formed on the circumference of the flat portion corresponding to the discharge port, forming a first conductive material peelable from the non-conductive plate only in the recessed portion of the non-conductive plate, forming a plate member by plating the first conductive material with a second conductive material by electroforming method after the formation of the first conductive material, and obtaining the orifice plate having the discharge port by peeling off the plate member from the non-conductive plate. With the method thus arranged, it is possible to materialize the same precision as in the glass mask used for photolithography, and make the variation of orifice areas smaller for the formation of highly densified orifices.

  • Patent number: 6302512
Abstract: A method of producing an ink-jet recording head having an ejection orifice forming member having a plurality of ejection orifices and a head body having ink passages corresponding to the ejecting orifices is provided. Energy generators are provided in the ink passages for generating energy to be used to eject ink. The head body and the ejection orifice forming member are fixed by a first adhesive layer formed on a portion of the ejection orifice forming member surrounding the ejection orifices and a second adhesive layer formed around the first adhesive layer. The second adhesive layer has a lower cure shrinkage percentage than the first adhesive layer.

  • Publication number: 20010017639
Abstract: A novel polymer film is based on a principle totally different from that of the known liquid-repelling agents used with the known surface-modifying methods and can easily modify the properties of the surface of an article. More specifically, such a polymer film can be formed on the surface of an article by application to improve the liquid repellency of the surface of the article and maintain the liquid-repelling effect A novel polymeric compound can be used to form such a polymer film and a liquid-repellency treatment solution containing such a polymeric compound. There is also provided a method of modifying the surface of an article by means of such a liquid-repellency treatment solution and articles having a modified surface.

  • Patent number: 6220688
Abstract: A liquid jet recording head comprises a first substrate having a plurality of discharge energy generating devices formed thereon, and a second substrate having a discharge opening plate provided with a plurality of discharge openings for discharging ink, and recessed portions becoming ink flow paths conductively connected with said discharge openings, and a common liquid chamber for retaining ink to be supplied to each of said discharge openings, respectively. The ink flow paths and common liquid chamber are formed by joining the first substrate and second substrate with the discharge energy generating devices of the first substrate facing the recessed portions becoming ink flow paths of the second substrate, at the same time, the joint between the first substrate and second substrate being sealed by sealing compound, and fine grains inclusively residing on the joint between the first substrate and second substrate.
