  • Publication number: 20020041364
Abstract: The image projection and display device includes a plurality of projectors, a projection screen forming a focusing plane for the projected images from the plurality of projectors, mutually overlapping regions existing between the images, a test image storing section for storing prescribed test images, and an image capturing section for acquiring projected test images in which a prescribed test image is projected. The device further includes a correction data calculating section for calculating correction data for correcting the input images for the respective projectors, on the basis of the acquired test images, in such a manner that a target brightness is achieved across the whole projection area including the overlapping regions, a correction data storing section for storing the correction data thus calculated, and an image correcting section for correcting the images input to the respective projectors, by using the correction data.

  • Publication number: 20020024640
Abstract: Highly detailed image data from an input terminal is divided by an input image divider in accordance with projectors. The divided image data are subjected to compensation processing by an image compensator, using compensation data for the respective characteristics of the various types of output characteristics. In the image compensator, color difference compensation, geometric compensation, color irregularity compensation, shading compensation, bias compensation, and gamma compensation may be performed, that is, either all of these compensations are performed or, alternatively, at least one of these compensations is performed. The output characteristics are subjected to compensation processing using the compensation data for the various types of output characteristics stored in the compensation data memory unit. The image data for each projector subjected to compensation processing, after D/A conversion, are sent to respective projectors.

  • Patent number: 6287027
Abstract: A printing apparatus prints an image by one head formed by adhering a plurality of print heads each having a plurality of nozzles in the main scanning direction. An image correction apparatus for the printing apparatus includes a printer, reader, correction coefficient calculation unit, image correction unit, and smoothing unit. The printer prints a predetermined correction chart so as to ensure a partially overlapping region in a region printed by main scanning of the print heads. The reader reads a printed image of the predetermined correction chart printed by the printer. The correction coefficient calculation unit calculates a predetermined correction coefficient on the basis of the printed image of the predetermined correction chart read by the reader. The image correction unit performs predetermined image correction in advance for printing image signals input to the print heads, on the basis of the predetermined correction coefficient calculated by the correction coefficient calculation unit.
